I listened to the Pats radio broadcast during the Bills Pats game and the Pats broadcasters were mocking bills fans pretty good with the Mr. Brightside thing

"so odd"

"it isn't even new, its not their song, college teams have been doing this with that song long before this"

etc. etc.

Zolak is a D-bag.

It’s crazy how concerts in the early days of the modern music industry (1950’s and early 1960’s) used to be money loss promotional events. People were seeing Elvis for the inflation adjusted equivalent of 30-45 dollars in small venues of 1000-2500 people. They just did the shows so people would buy the albums and tell their friends to buy the albums.

It took the Beatles doing arena/baseball/football venues making millions on high volume shows to change the industry. But before TicketMaster became the price gouger it is and digital markets made scalping and setting markets higher much easier there were at least relatively affordable tickets for big arena shows for the most part esp if you were willing to wait a few hours in line.

Music has sure changed

I typically get to 2 games a year, and the Chiefs game was my first this season. I had heard about  Mr. Brightside becoming the Bills anthem, but had not experienced it till this game. WOW...just WOW. When it came on in the 4th quarter, with the Bills ahead but the game not done yet, I couldn't believe how the energy, in the stands, on the Bills sideline, and in the Bills huddle, kicked up even further. The fans stood and sang, and a lot of the guys on the sideline were bouncing around, mostly the TE group, Mac Hollins, Toohill, and a few others. And the guys on the field , waiting for the tv timeout to be over, were jumping  around as well. It is truly the fans and team coming together. If you haven't been to a game yet this year, I'd encourage you to go on you tube and find any of the dozen clips in there. Just a great tradition that apparently sprung up organically, not one forced on the game, like that train whistle.

Should’ve been a song by Cannibal Corpse, the Goo Goo Dolls, or Rick James.

Wow, can't understand the hate on this one. The whole vibe of the stadium is fantastic during the song. What's the complaint if the crowd obviously enjoys it, along with the players.

Exactly-  I don’t like the song-  it I like everyone in the stadium singing it together creating an amazing vibe

They normally play it late 3rd quarter, early 4th, after we're blowing teams out already. It's mostly a fun sing along that gives good winning vibes, despite the lyrics maybe not really matching. No one pays attention to lyrics anyways

I honestly love when we fight over nonsensical or unimportant things based solely on personal opinion.

I truly think it is the meat and potatoes of this board.  The more acute and arcane here the better. Not gonna lie, it’s a little bit of my jam.

It’s why this football board thread about music is completely full of win.

Go Bills

This is a song only Millennials would love.

I think it's younger than Millennials. It was boring pop in it's own era, and it's bizarre that Dawson and Dalton seem to like it so much.

Rick James would be the way to go for sure

How about "For those about Rock we salute you"

Look at all those people in the crowd going crazy !

If we are doing AC/DC this is the song!  Get the whole crowd chanting THUNDER!

Wait - this is something that's only done after the game is well-in-hand? I haven't been to a game in a awhile now (Patriots* playoff game), but I thought it's turned into an every game tradition.

I lived in Pittsburgh for close to a decade, so I've been to a few Steelers games, and they do Renegade every 4th quarter, with highlights of hits throughout the game. Which I always thought was probably one of the coolest traditions out there, and assumed that's how the Bills did it. Of course I can't mention that without also mentioning the game a handful of years ago with Bills on the road, scoring a 40 yard td pass or something on (I think) the very next play after playing Renegade :D and then the year after with Pittsburgh going to Buffalo, they got trolled with Renegade being played in similar fashion at the Ralph

Yeah but it would just encourage the Thunderstruck drinking game and nothing good comes of that.

Mr Brightside is a top tier banger. Elite song. Making it the Bills vibe song is ever better.
