A lot of the young people singing it weren’t alive when it was on the radio 21 years ago. I had never heard of the band or the song. Quote

The Killers are pretty huge and have been around for over 20 years. Strangely, a Vegas band that's actually bigger in the UK than in the US (although still big in the US). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Killers Quote

Bills!Win! Posted Thursday at 08:44 PM Posted Thursday at 08:44 PM (edited) Our kickoff song is also constantly played at M&T bank stadium. Who came up with it first? Also about the train whistle, I first noticed it while at the Thursday night game Vs the dolphins in 2012. Does anyone remember its origin? Edited Thursday at 08:48 PM by Bills!Win! Quote

Now we gotta get down, because we want it all. I don't think it's a random pick for a stadium sing along. I think it's a conscious anthem for a that's coming out of their cage and opening their eager eyes. 1 1 Quote

It is a catchy song, but the lyrics/meaning are so unbelievably out of place to be played at a football game. It just feels bizarre that that is the Bills song. It’s about some dude catching his girlfriend cheating! anyone have a similar reaction? 6 hours ago, davefan66 said: Was played at Knox’s wedding. That’s why it’s a team thing. Link so that makes a much better wedding song? lol 2 Quote

Who freaking cares? A part of the fanbase and some of the players enjoy it being played during a game…nothing more, nothing less. No need to be a Rhodes Scholar wannabe and do a deep dive. 😂 Excellent. Reminds me of the hours Beatles fans would spend days trying to figure out if Paul McCartney was dead or people trying to "break the code" of the song "hotel California" or "American Pie". Quote

Most sophisticated fan bases would team up to reconstruct Mozart’s 41st as the game winds down. They should never be irreverent and have a little fun unless their choice of music is approved by sophisticated experts. You clearly have superior taste and should apply to be the official fun approval czar. Quote

LABILLBACKER Posted Friday at 01:50 AM Posted Friday at 01:50 AM (edited) Perfect song for the Bills. After 4 SB loses, Music City & 13 seconds, we're just trying to look for the Brightside and ignore the paranoia of the past. The song ends with "I never" said 4 times, symbolizing our 4 loses. I still think Frazier cheated on us.... Edited Friday at 02:05 AM by LABILLBACKER 2 2 1 Quote
Big Blitz Posted Friday at 05:41 AM Posted Friday at 05:41 AM (edited) “In the Air Tonight” I’m pretty sure is Phil Collins singing about his divorce. In the 40 years since, it’s now become a hype song for most everything. Make of that what you will and overthinking what the meaning of these songs are and if they apply to the proper event or whatever. I like how Mr. Brightside has become what it is to the team and fans. Apparently so do 70,000 plus in the stadium when it hits. We didn’t deliberately copy anyone either. It was the result of a viral video from Knox’s wedding where the core of this team is shown singing and dancing along exuding pure joy and love for each other. That perfectly captures the relationship between the team, its fans, and the incredible run this has been. It’s gonna hit so hard at the parade. Edited Friday at 05:43 AM by Big Blitz 1 Quote
