 It sounds silly but I worry about the last three games, against the Pats and Jets.  As bad as they may be, those teams have given the Bills problems over past few years…they will have nothing to lose and we’re likely to get one or more crazy weather games at that time of year…hopefully they will just be in tank mode, fighting it out for a high draft pick.

Not worried about the Jets at all at this point. They will be running for the bus in late December. The Pats game in Foxboro could get a little tricky

Getting the #1 seed would be huge. Don't have to play on WC weekend so players can get an extra week to get as healthy as possible. Also, McDermott has never won a playoff game on the road (0-4, JAC, HOU, KC X 2) so I would prefer they play at home in the playoffs. They are a lot tougher at home then on the road.

It is great for us as fans to be looking at various scenarios for these final 6 games, but I hope that McD and the team's sole focus during this bye week and heading into Week 13 is the San Francisco 49ers. Let's win that game at home -- and then start focusing on the Rams on the road. Rinse, repeat, etc.

I agree. Sitting back watching wildcard weekend and watching the ravens, Steelers and Chiefs beat each other up sounds awesome. Very relaxing plus I get to try some new pumpkin spice flavors along with my favorite wings from rozs. Going to be hilarious watching tj watt chase mahomes around.

I don't know about the Dolphins. They should win on Sunday vs the Pats but then they play 4 days later on TNF at GB. I think they will lose that one and that will finish them.

If buffalo makes it to the big game are you going to new Orleans? I'm thinking of going there with family. I'm definitely getting an Airbnb for the AFC championship in Buffalo if we get home field.

The Packers are actually my NFC pick to play buffalo in the Superbowl 

 

I had buffalo vs KC AFC championship

Detroit vs Green Bay NFC championship

I think people are too dismissive about KC's chances of winning out. I wouldn't bet the house on it but they just have a knack of finding some way to win at the end. Losing last week doesn't strip them of that special ability. Because let's be honest - Buffalo didn't beat KC at the end, Josh Allen beat KC at the end. He's maybe the only player in the league that can make that play in that moment against that team. No one else on their remaining slate of games is remotely capable of that.

Can the NFL please get rid of the "only one team gets a bye" system.

Either go back to 6 playoff teams or just make it a tournament and go to 8 teams.

I think it is very possible they could... or at least only lose 1 after they clinch the 1 seed and rest everyone... assuming we dont win out... that being said... the dominance that was them I just dont see it this year... their experience and Mahomes clutch gene is strong. That being said... I think Kelsey is not the player he was... their WR are average and they miss Pacheco... I could see them losing a surprise game or two.

Yeah root for freezing rain. Bad for the fans in attendance but great for our chances of winning. Remember the 49ers played in the rain against Cleveland last year and their offense was almost non-functional. Purdy isn't built for that weather.

I mostly agree with this.  The Bills are getting 1, likely 2 home games regardless. I do think the 1-seed is important. Not necessarily for homefield throughout, but for the bye, which I think is huge.

I see Steelers finishing with 4-5 losses (Bengals, ravens and maybe Eagles).

 

Chiefs could lose to Chargers/Denver/Steelers/Houston (at least 2 of those).

 

If we only drop one more, we are the 1 seed under my scenario above.  I'd love that since the xtra week of rest is pretty key,  As is avoiding the 2 or 3 seed until the AFC title game.  IMHO, the 1 seed is massively valuable.

KC hasn't been dominant since they traded Tyreek Hill. The last three years they've been in a bunch of close games, even against inferior opponents, but they always find a way to make the 1-2 plays at the end to pull out a win. Even moreso this year than ever before. Offense, defense, special teams, somebody steps up and makes the play. The difference against us is Josh Allen said no thanks, I'm going to make that one play at the end. That's why we succeeded where everyone else has failed. And like I said he might be the only player in the league capable of that. This year at least he's the one and only player that's shown that capability.

 

Maybe KC's almost-loss against Denver followed by a true loss will throw their season off the rails a bit and they'll lose some of that magic, but I'll have to see it to believe it.

 

FWIW I think they will lose one more game somewhere along the way just because of probability, but I will genuinely be surprised if they lose two.
