Flip the script-if a Chiefs fan did that to a Josh Allen doll how would you want people to react?

I wouldn’t care. Other people reacting to stupid things isn’t my business. If their life has that little going on that they feel the need to react to something that has nothing to do with them that’s their problem not mine.

I’ll never understand why people get bent out of shape about things that don’t impact their lives one bit.

You older folks use to do this with an actual Marino doll

give me a break cmon - it’s a rivalry not racism or wishing death - it’s a sport rivalry

tastefully done?

but cmon the uproar is silly

Go watch Mississippi Burning and let me know if you still think it's silly.

How was it more offensive than a Billdo being thrown on the field?!?

Perhaps you could explain to me, in the history of the world, how many people have been murdered by dildos?

I can think of one, and that's just rumor.

I premise this all with saying I have a very thick skin.

But using a noose for anything is wrong.  It's very much seen as a symbol of the horrible times during slavery.

It was a classless act by some people in this fanbase.  Not representative of us as a whole.

Warning for what?  If I had to guess I’d say whoever hung the doll isn’t racist. Poor taste? Sure.   Where’s the outrage for the 70,000 KC fans doing the war chant and tomahawk chop before every game (obvious racist overtones).  I’ve been to multiple stadiums and seen mascots and effigies of players hung and it wasn’t a big deal.

You don't see how hanging a black person in effigy is racist???

It’s not about him being black or at least you don’t know that. Also are you aware that throughout history people of every color have been hanged?? Not everything is about racism bud.

Doesn't matter what their intentions were; it is still racism and wrong.

Because absolutes and outrage are always a winning combo.

Look, it was in bad taste, but they did it because it was an opponent and a rival, not because of race. You are choosing to make it about race and trying to force us all to go along with it. Cut it out. If it is that offensive to you, find the three people that put it up (who happen to be black according to other TBD posters who were there), and tell them why they are racists.

It was a poor judgement call and nothing else.

I was about to say the same thing.  I see the guys every game that put the frog up. It's a frigging frog.

It's good that it's being talked about because the lynching stuff needs to go.   Just in very poor taste and it's not been an uncommon thing for people to put jerseys on a dummy or stuffed animal and hang an opposing player in effigy at Bills tailgates/games.    I know that Bills fans could have taken a sign that said "Mahomes is a (gay slur)" into the stadium if it were 20-30 years ago and it would have gotten a lot of laughs but that kind of thing got rightfully quashed and so should the lynching stuff.    Be more creative.

I'm personally not offended.  It's just Kermit in a Mahomes jersey.  That's not the same as hanging Mahomes in effigy which would be offensive in my mind.

On the other hand, some people are offended and that's a problem.  Not to be pessimistic,  but it seems to me that life sh*ts on all of us enough (illness, old age, letters from the IRS, etc.) that we shouldn't sh*t on each other.

Edit: I just read through the entire thread, looked at the image again, and reconsidered my position.  Forget any earlier ambivalence...  It's offensive.

You need to realize that a noose is seen as very offense to some.  Maybe not you, but to some, yes.  And maybe be a little more conscious to that.

Do i think there is an err of racism involved with the kermit thing?  No.  But again, it was in poor taste (if indeed it was a noose).

Have we learned nothing in the last 4 years?  Any event involving something even resembling a noose is considered a hate crime in modern society.

For Gods sake, bible verses are considered hate speech so a picture of a noose is a totally offensive thing . People are way to over sensitive !!!

I do realize that I don’t need a lesson. I have a Bachelor in History/Education.

And it wasn’t a noose so the whole outrage from people is misplaced.

In America, there is a sad history of lynching black people, so it's different.

The intent wasn't racist, perhaps but it had the effect of being racist. The perpetrators made it about race, although, perhaps, unknowingly. Their actions must be condemned.
