May I gently and respectfully suggest that, unless you naturally spend your day surfing around the internet, you may not have reasonable data about whether or not there's an uproar?  Links shared to make the point that while folks have the right to be all *shrug* "meh" about it, it is legitimately a source of upset and anger for some people.  These are the result of a brief Google search on 2 terms.  So no, "the uproar" is not strongest here, and I don't think we can legit judge just how few or many people are really upset about it.

I’m an expat living in a country of ~65 million and I’m absolutely positive that about 0.1% of the population even know who Mahomes is. If we take the whole continent into consideration, the data would probably be about the same.

Quite a few more actually know who Travis is though, thanks to Taylor Swift spreading her soft power to all corners of the globe.

These sites for the most part (TMZ) are examples of clickbait rage bubbles which aim to profit off of manufactured controversy. If someone is offended, I don’t care. If someone thinks it’s funny, I don’t care. I seriously don’t care.

But for all those who care, fair play to you brothers and sisters. 😁

True but irrelevant to the point I was addressing

Eh I'm sure there's fans in Kansas City who are upset

And it certainly is not classy ...

But this is coming from a franchise that does a Indian war chant in an area where the trail of tears occurred ... While it didn't go through Kansas City Missouri it went through Missouri

If Washington Redskins was offensive... And all the warrior and Indian team names across the country are being removed

Honestly the mocking war chant is more disgraceful than I think any name

Prior to the game Sunday someone hung a toy Kermit in a Mahomes jersey by a rope.  Now multiple outlets are posting what a terrible disturbing act that was.  Granted, most everyone reading this on this forum is a Bills fan but are others bothered by this?  I see it as fans being fans and it’s not a big deal.  Agree or disagree?

Not a huge deal.

Yes, it's over the line.

Flip the script-if a Chiefs fan did that to a Josh Allen doll how would you want people to react?

Wouldn't have made the news

Agree. The Mafia would have just gone next level with it when we next played the Chiefs.

Just today the Disney corporation announced they plan on closing the Muppet Vision 3-D attraction in their Studios theme park...not sure if the two stories are related.

Disney announced Kermit the Frog was found behind a dumpster, strangled to death. Police believe the perpetrator had a vendetta against the Kansas City Chiefs, as Kermit was dressed in an oversized Mahomes jersey.”

Oh, now, lookie here

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/patrick-mahomes-fined-14-069-for-violent-gesture

Quote

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was fined $14,069 for what the league called a violent gesture in Sunday’s game against the Bills.

The gesture, in which Mahomes appeared to mimic shooting a rifle, came after he threw a fourth-quarter touchdown pass.

I had no idea this was a Thing the league was cracking down on.

Valid points  (Make that Chiefs fans across MO)

I know you're a history guy; you may know this, but a lot of people don't realize that the "Trail of Tears" wasn't a single trail but a number of routes.  But yeah, the major route and two others of ~5 went through MO and the damned war chant IS disgraceful.

I think the suspended Kermit-in-a-Mahomes-jersey bothers some Chiefs fans (keep in mind I live surrounded by Chiefs fans now, the Turn-Coats) because they see it as specific and personally low-class vs. some of the Chiefs traditions that are low-class but not specific or personal IYKWIM?
