Do you think they did it because of the color of his skin or because he is the QB of the Chiefs?

I think they did it because he's the QB of the Chiefs and they hate him, but I don't think people get a free pass to behave reprehensibly because they're fans and they're drunk.

There is no uproar. Just like a few weeks ago when Simon shut that thread down.

I personally saw this thing. It wasn't hanging hanging was tied up to hang from a stick.

The reaction to this is people are upset that someone said someone was upset. The outlets are social media tools trying to get attention and click bait journalists and scum like Steven a Smith and his ilk

No one is upset about this. I promise.

If it's just tied to a stick to raise it up meh.  If it's actually a noose, No.

Shut it.  It's sports, get a grip and stop the fake outrage.  You really don't give a ***** and just want to pounce like all the other virtue signalers

No you stuff it with this crap.  Black people were lynched in this country for no other reason than their skin color.  We have KKK flyers being put in mailboxes in my community right now.  The Mafia is better than this.

Doesn't matter what their intentions were; it is still racism and wrong.

Of course it matters what the intentions were. If these idiots had thought " I hate black people and Mahomes is black so I'm gonna hang Mahomes in effigy for being black". That would be racist. If instead the morons thought, "I'm gonna hang a Kermit the frog doll wearing a Chiefs jersey cuz I hate the Chiefs" then I would characterize those actions as not racist, stupid but not racist.

Sure, they may not have had racist intents, but there actions were racist and hurtful. Note, I did not call for hate crime charges.

Mahommes is black, so it is wrong. Plus, a noose evokes racism and a vile time in US history.

I agree and disagree... regardless of the fact that Mahomes has black ancestry or not its tasteless... and I honestly dont believe there was a racist intent... I believe he did it because he was an hated opponent.  If it were a black person doing this, I wouldnt think it was racially motivated because his Mom is blonde haired blue eyed white.

That being said, I can totally understand your point about the noose and lynching's etc... evoking that connotation... especially if you are black.. It may have been unintended but it is still tasteless and quite honestly I don't want our team represented by that crap. Regardless of intent.

I am not a cancel culture/politically correct kind of guy.  But in my opinion, and my opinion only, hanging a kermit is in poor taste for several reasons.  Feel free to disagree.  I am not losing any sleep over it, and I am sure the media will blow it way out of proportion, as they always do.

Again, who cares? It means nothing
