Exactly and the key to me and why ppl might be saying this , is KC couldn't get pressure without blitzing like in years past and even when blitzing,  didn't get to Josh, just a phenomenal job by the whole offense and coaches..

 

Such a lazy and frankly dumb take, you have a chance to go up 3.5 games vs .5 games over your biggest competition for the 1 seed and you hold back? With no guarantee we'll ever play them in January,  GTFOH

If we meet them again in the playoffs I think the Chiefs try a much more run-heavy strategy. Bills will have to show that they can stop it.

The only reason we didn’t blow the game wide open was the 4th down INT. Convert that and we have a 2 score lead going into halftime.

What happens is the Chiefs come here after losing 4-5 games in total this season.

 

Then we play well and win and in the final minutes the entire stadium sings in unison about some chick undressing in a random dude's apartment while the snowflakes fall and the Chiefs 3 peat dream comes to an end.

Allen is playing smart ball, and taking some bold chances in the right spots.  If they can replicate that in the playoffs, they will be hard to beat.  With a healthy roster and Allen letting others help him, we could easily end that Chiefs playoff luck streak.

I don't trust such discussions--they're too hypothetical. With injuries or other unpredictable events, they could be significantly different teams in January.

I missed seeing Bernard move Oliver over on that play. It looks like Mahommes was ready to QB sneak into the gap; the second Bernard and Oliver closed it, the play is over before it's even snapped.  That was a brilliant move by Bernard.

This is the least intimidating Chiefs team of recent years.  They may be 9-1, but they got very lucky to not be 7-3 and Mahomes leads the NFL in interceptions since the start of last season.  

 

My main concern is not about them, it's about the health of our roster when we play them.  We have been cursed where we were missing key players where the lack of having those players very directly led to our losses to KC in 2021 (Tre White) and 2023 (Our LB's mainly, but also the Ghosts of Von and Tre didn't help).

 

If we are at or near full strength, we will beat them and beat them decisively no matter where we play.

I'm not sure about that either. I just posted in another thread how Spags consistently brought 6 and 7 men on every third and long. There were many second and longs where he brought 5. I mean, maybe they have some more exotic stunts or something that we didn't see, but it sure doesn't seem like he was holding back at all. They were bringing the house to Josh pretty consistently. Considering that Josh converted more than not on those downs, maybe they'll actually dial down the pressure if they meet again. But then again, it's Spags.

 

With Josh learning to be patient, take what the defense gives, dink and dunk down the field if necessary, he has become a nightmare to defend. He was already very good against the blitz because of his legs and how he can extend plays (as we saw yesterday), but if you run zero or whatever instead, he can now pick you apart underneath (without making too many mistakes). It's pick your poison for defensive coordinators.

 

Maybe that is what finally gets us over the top. There is no longer a defensive scheme that can frustrate/beat Josh. You have to have the players and perfect execution of whatever defense you're running to beat him.

For the Bills, Allen played probably his best game overall this year, and based on his Chiefs game history, I have reason to believe he can play at about the same level. Cook and the running backs ran into a wall last Sunday. I'm sure the Bills will look at that and revamp the running game considerably. I can't believe they could do worse than what they did overall. Receiving wise, how much better can Kincaid & Coleman do topping what Knox and Samuel provided in their place last Sunday? Honestly I don't see much there.

 

For the Chiefs, Mahomes is about as steady as they come for playing at a high level. Rashee Rice is done for the year. I do see Hollywood Brown will do more and better than Worthy - the main reason Worthy opened a lot first half was because the Bills put a lot of attention to Kelce and Hopkins. A healthy Brown should do better but his health, coming of IR without much pre-season/live game action with Mahomes, is something to wonder about. Pacheco will certainly do better than Hunt and Hunt himself actually did pretty well last Sunday, just that Reid kind of got away from the running game a bit like he usually do. This is an area that worries me some because while the Chiefs do not run the ball like Ravens, but they can do damage and potentially derail the Bills defensive plan. If we expect Andy Reid to adjust his game plan, this is certainly where he's looking into.

 

Defensively Rousseau is proven to be a huge problem for the Chiefs - in fact the Chiefs O-line tackles have been exposed for awhile now. This where I don't see the Chiefs improving their passing attack too much because there is really no additional help coming in that area, and the Bills with Rousseau, Von, Epenesa, Smoot are probably good enough to harass Mahomes like they did last Sunday. Milano coming back could be huge for the Bills if he's healthy and close to a level where he was before. We don't know where Carter's level is, but if he's continuing his upward trend like he was before he hurt his wrist, he could be a positive contributer helping to nullify what the Chiefs might do on the ground with Pacheco.

 

The Chiefs defensive will get a small boost when Omenihu comes back. He had 7 sacks last year. But Jaylen Watson is key to their secondary. If he's out for the year, they would have just one quality CB in McDuffie. Lasy Sunday game showed when they moved him to cover Cooper, Shakir took off. Chris Jones looked to me slowed down some, maybe the age (30) and the high snap counts (82% as a DT!!!) is catching up to him. 

 

Injuries can certainly change things from now to the playoff. But overall, what we saw last Sunday is pretty much both team playing at a high level while missing important pieces. I don't see it change much when they meet again even when all the missing pieces are back. Last Sunday, the Bills executed a little better and the coaching decisions showed quite a bit improvement from what they did against the Chiefs in the past. To finally overcome the Chiefs in the playoff, they probably don't need to overthink and make drastic changes.

Just thinking out loud - I don't know if the Bills see the Chiefs in Jan, I think the Bills did a good job of exposing them. Not saying they don't make the playoff's but I don't know if they get by a Denver or Pittsburge even.

When that next meeting happens i want it to be both teams at full strength or as close as they can be to that so there can be no excuses like - If so & so would have been in the line up it would have been different, don't want none of that .

Also the fans will say afterward that the players were just too tired from going so far in playoffs last 6 years.
