Allen also missed some easy passes he usually doesn’t. To me, the offense brought maybe their ‘B’ game Sunday and we still scored 30 and won by 9. If the Bills bring their offensive ‘A’ game in the playoffs, assuming injured offensive players (Coleman, Kincaid and Brown) all will be back for that one, I don’t see how the Chiefs will be able to keep up with us. Yea plenty of ifs/missed chances by both teams. People are only talking about the plays the chiefs missed but we missed quite a few too. I think our gameplan changes a lot if Spencer brown plays too seemed like we were running a lot to slow their pass rush down if that 4th and 3 play was just a turnover on downs we would’ve had much better field position for the defense, missed the wide open shot to Morris, missed a few wide open throws. If we were 1/1 on 4th down the game would’ve felt a little closer to me but we rolled the dice twice and were successful once which is pretty normal. Quote

Kelly to Allen Posted Thursday at 09:16 AM Posted Thursday at 09:16 AM I think assuming everyone is relatively healthy we're better and should win by a a decent score but I'd be lying if I didn't admit mahomes just like Allen can turn it on to another level and has proven it over and over again. steven50 Posted Thursday at 09:31 AM Posted Thursday at 09:31 AM The bills played an entire game this time around instead of taking the first half off. If they continue to do that they will be unstoppable. If the road to the Superbowl goes through buffalo I am putting all bets on the bills. This could be the year. You heard it here first 😁 Quote
GunnerBill Posted Thursday at 09:55 AM Posted Thursday at 09:55 AM (edited) What will happen is it will be a really good football game, between two really good teams, it will be close and come down to the last 2 minutes or so. One team or other will make a play or not make a play and that will decide the outcome. 2021 playoffs - 13 seconds 2022 reg season - Taron pick on final drive 2023 reg season - Toney's toe 2023 playoffs - Josh just misses Shakir in the endzone 2024 reg season - Josh's superman run It is how these games have gone now 5 times in a row. Just gotta hope that finally, in January, we come out on the right end of one. Edited Thursday at 09:55 AM by GunnerBill 1 4 Quote
Ray Stonada Posted Thursday at 10:01 AM Posted Thursday at 10:01 AM I’m also hopeful that it we’re healthy, there is a chance to boat race them the way they did to us twice in 2020. Feels like the tide is turning. But of course it is no sure thing. Quote
ProcessTruster Posted Thursday at 10:07 AM Posted Thursday at 10:07 AM If we are healthy and play in OP, we win. Otherwise, its a lot like last year. Roster health is everything in single elimination tournaments. 1 Quote

Matt_In_NH Posted Thursday at 10:28 AM Posted Thursday at 10:28 AM Bills win and the oars is happy or else fire everyone. Not saying that is my reaction, that will be the discussion though. 1 Quote
machine gun kelly Posted Thursday at 11:22 AM Posted Thursday at 11:22 AM I’m not going to worry about it until it happens. Too many variables and am the least superstitious. It’s a fools errand to think we can only beat them in the regular season, or well if we beat them in the season, then they have to beat us in the playoffs. We don’t know if we face each again, what is each teams injury status, etc. etc. Anyway, I’m just going the ride. Right now, I’m just thinking of SF, amd keep an eye on records while we are on a bye. Sweats Posted Thursday at 11:47 AM Posted Thursday at 11:47 AM I'm not complaining, but i can't understand why KC abandoned the run game. It's no big secret that we can hardly stop the run and yet, KC put the 2nd half on Mahomo's shoulders and that hurt them big time......and KC wasn't even in bad shape score wise. They had plenty of time to run up the gut cause we certainly weren't going to stop it. They should have softened up the middle with the RB's and set up their WR's or Kelce for some bombs, but it never panned out like that for whatever reason. I think in that insistence with Reid's play calling, he showed his willingness to abandon a scheme that clearly would have worked for some Mahomo voodoo black magic. I don't think Reid often makes mistakes, but in this case, he made a big one by abandoning the run game too early. 1 Quote
JoshAllin Posted Thursday at 11:50 AM Posted Thursday at 11:50 AM I found it interesting they scored 30 with the run game being shut down completely besides the goaline scores. So they're going to have to fix that or adjust better Quote
zow2 Posted Thursday at 12:25 PM Posted Thursday at 12:25 PM For some reason, i feel like the Chiefs or Bills will lose a heartbreaker before they ever meet this season. Unless KC really improves offensively, i think they can get picked off even at Arrowhead. The Bills will be on a mission like never before, but they probably have to get past teams like the Chargers/Broncos and Ravens/Steelers before they'd even get to play KC. Quote

No reason we can't get past any of those teams, any team in the league period. @ Detroit will be interesting, coaching just seems so locked in , McD,Brady,Babich are coaching their butts off Quote
colin Posted Thursday at 12:31 PM Posted Thursday at 12:31 PM my brain tells me (assuming we are healthy and such) that it's another multi lead change game going down to the wire, but for some reason based on what we saw on sunday night, i think a healthy bills team can win decisively vs kc, especially at home. adding back brown might be the biggest singe change maker, a few of those outside runs might get broken open and that changes everything on the drive. if you throw in a two handed cooper, coleman, and kinkaid, it bumps samuel and shakir down the ladder in terms of who covers them (or else they can leave coleman one on one on the outside w a lesser corner, but that is a dream match up for us), and gives kc fits. also, the pass rush and coverage scheme were so effective at disrupting mahomes, who has not been good at all this season. if we are actually full power on DL w smoot and carter making contributions, and have LBs 1 and 2 (for the first time since what, the early miami game last year?) playing, i think that translates to an extra turnover or punts for kc, and might also force a FG instead of TD. i might be overly optimistic, and be thinking that mcd will continue to coach smart when his playoff history tells us the opposite, but frankly i just don't think kc is great this season. detroit, pittz, and as a match up baltimore are way scarier. the analogy of kc vs philly last year is very apt. PoundingDog Posted Thursday at 01:39 PM Author Posted Thursday at 01:39 PM 4 hours ago, stuvian said: whatever we did to contain Kelce needs to be repeated The Bills did more man coverage than ever against the Chiefs and had Bernard or Williams plus some rotation of Taron and a safety to make Kelce disappear. As a strategy, that won't change but actual implementation will differ next time. Interestingly Mahomes did not have a single scramble for yards Sunday. Maybe his ankle is not all healed. You can clearly see the Bills pass rush strategy is keyed to beating the tackles from the edge; DTs hold up at the top so he can't step up in the pocket. Essentially force him to get the ball out quickly. When he did leak outside, backs stayed with their guy, not going after Mahomes --- except Douglas who hesitated on whether to guard the endzone line or follow this man (the TE), allowed Mahomes to throw behind him for their last TD. DaBillsFanSince1973 Posted Thursday at 01:51 PM Posted Thursday at 01:51 PM what if the chiefs don't make it past the first round? I know it's a bye week and not much bills news going on as the team gets rested up so the hypothetical threads will pop up. but, myself, too long a bills fan to know not to put the cart before the horse. I know there are 7 games yet to be played out and chances at this point look real good the bills reach the postseason. if they do, it would be great to have a rematch with the hated chiefs and this time beating them and advancing. I guess the reason I don't get too far ahead is knowing what the let down feels like and before I set my eyes too far ahead I will take it one game at a time and when the final gun sounds in the final game then I will start thinking about who they meet in the postseason. I know, it's a drag I can't get all hyped up about what might be, but the season although 17 games long has moved like life for me, fast, and only 7 more to go so I want to try and soak what's left all in. I'd like to see 15-2 with home field but at this point it's just wishful thinking. Quote
