Daboll is a master at spacing. We had so many guys running open when he was here. And Brady is the worst culprit of poor spacing on 4th down in my opinion. He constantly calls plays where the pass catchers are right at the dang sticks. For example: The red-line is the first down and we have all of our pass catchers playing the right to it. Hate it. He’s done it for the past 4 games or so and it drives me nuts. This was last week when he did it too. 3 of our 4 receiving options were right at the sticks. Just bugs me. It was the same deal on Shakir’s crucial 3rd down catch too. Ya I'm mostly with you- Joe Brady does frustrate me at times. For me it's mostly his stubbornness to run the ball. I haven't had a big issue with his route concepts, but interesting graphics you bring up Edited 18 hours ago by BillsFan130 Quote

It was the same deal on Shakir’s crucial 3rd down catch too. this has been one of my biggest criticisms of him. you'll see the replay and there is just nothing but wide open green field. no players, or he runs one player deep and thats it. and i hate having the saftey outlet directly lateral to josh. or you have bunch formations on the side and no one anywhere in the middle portion of the field The one thing brady has done better is incorporate the run game and become balanced. im glad to see that we are kinda getting from 1st down run...2nd and short run..2nd and longer pass... 3rd down pass unless its under 2 yards 1 Quote

Daboll was absolutely lights out in his last two games with the bills. (Perfect game , then 36 points against KC the next game) The guy hasn’t had any football success before Josh Allen or after Josh Allen. While those playoff games were great, that season was rough. We had a chance at missing the playoffs after the Wind Bowl against the Pats. Since Brady took over we’re 16-4 and 3 of those losses were the close Eagles shootout, the Chiefs playoff loss which was razor close, and the Texans game where the kicker hit a 58 yarder. Brady is balanced and intuitive. He gets it. And he’s doing it with a crew that nobody believed in when the season started. Daboll was all about numero uno. Sending Allen on QB sweeps while injured (Bucs game) and cutesy draws (Titans loss) that were all about showcasing Daboll’s talent for head coach. “Props to Brian Daboll for helping Josh Allen” ad naeseum by the media in 2020/2021. Daboll sucks with Daniel Jones. He was supposed to be the QB whisperer, that’s why they resigned Jones. It turns out Daboll was just the Josh Allen d***rider. 1 Quote

He had rough games like any OC, but I think objectively in the McDermott era he had the best stretches of offence and when him and Josh were in the zone, they were unstoppable . 0 punts in 2 games against belichick in one season is absolutely wild 2 Quote

Allen during those years wasnt nearly as congnitive as he is now. then there was the year that his arm was injured for a lot of which his passing was way off. then the league adapted to the bills/chiefs offense by keeping a two deep safety over the top and daboll didnt seem to be able to adjust. But his “personality” (style) just doesn’t mesh with me. You realize our 4th down conversion rate is the best in the NFL right? 2 Quote

Dennison acted like a magician who stacks the deck of cards but this time rather than an Ace on top of deck he put a 5 of Clubs (Peterson) which got him fired. Quote

The other guys got developed Allen. There was also plenty of love for Dorsey early on too (he’s going to be a head coach!). Also, I think you forgot Rick Dennison (I think that’s his name)! I think some fans block out how raw Allen was and just think he was like this right away. Daboll deserves so much credit for that. Agree with much of this. Daboll was the best because he developed Allen from a raw farmboy into a force of nature. Dennison is #4 on the offensive side. He wasn't good. Brady both puzzles & frustrates me. Sometimes his O doesn't look very dynamic and his playcalling is predictable. Josh's YPG is down under Brady and his completion pct. is 5% below his best year. And yet we're the 3rd highest scoring team in the league despite the issues we've had at wideout. I might have to - eventually - rate Brady #1. Quote

But Brady is for sure an upgrade and does what Sean M wants. Situationally inept is how I'll remember him. Running the same concepts far too often, and a knack for horrible calls on important downs. That said....he had to deal with Gabe Davis as a starting outside WR. 1 Quote

So while you may be frustrated for a bit, most people are not frustrated when the Bills get rolling downhill and score on every possession from mid 2nd quarter to the end of the game usually. In large part to showing something early and coming back to the same look but a different play out of it later. There is a reason why the Bills lead the NFL in 2nd half point differential. So stubbornly pounding the ball up the middle all game to put yourself in 2nd and 3rd and longs all game long, to set Yourself for a few plays at the end of the game is the strategy? I am sorry, Not a sustainable strategy. Bills have an all world QB who ridiculously bailed them out of 3rd and longs all game long, that's why they were successful against KC Quote
