Nooooo Jets. Leave our front office alone. You go somewhere else to find your guy. It's unethical to poach from other successful staffs. Especially division ones. Go away

He could bring in Bill Belichick’s dog as asst GM, and it probably wouldn’t hurt the Jets. I mean, they are still the Jets and the owner sets the tone.

I think he would be a great player/GM if they were to pick up the remainder of his contract 😉

He is on many lists; no need to pay for insider.

3. Terrance Gray

Bills' Director of Player Personal Terrance Gray would be a good choice for the Jets to replace Douglas. He’s been with them for seven seasons and has helped to craft the team to almost a Super Bowl contender year after year. Gray has also worked with the Minnesota Vikings and the Chiefs before joining the Bills. He has experience in the front office and working with the General Manager Accelerator Program. So, he has experience in making things happen for specific teams and has been a scout earlier in his career. The Jets would benefit from a guy like this running their team.

The Jets just need to find the right guy. They have not had great picks, and management has been no help. If they put any of these guys in, they can turn this team into something decent for next season. They will stick with what they must work with, and the Jet will go from there.

Terrance Gray, VP of Player Personnel, Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills seamlessly transitioned away from aging veterans this offseason, somehow getting younger while also getting better.

Terrance Gray has been essential in Buffalo’s talent acquisition process, joining the staff in college scouting before shifting to pro personnel in 2022. He landed interviews with the Raiders and Chargers earlier this year.

Honorable Mention: Catherine Raîche, Will McClay, Terrance Gray

If New York is looking to pry Joe Brady from Buffalo, pairing him with Terrance Gray is something to consider as well.

Terrance Gray, Buffalo Bills

It shouldn't come as a surprise that the next name is also from one of the best organizations in the league. This time, though, it's the Jets' rival, the Bills.

Gray has been with the Bills since 2017 after he spent 11 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings as a college scout. Now, his title is Vice President of Player Personnel. Simply, he is a pro at player acquisition.

Inherently, Gray has been essential to Buffalo's process of talent acquisition. If the Jets were to bring him in, they'd bring a Buffalo-style front office and steal a key player in the talent acquisition of one of their biggest rivals.

A New Jersey based team poaching a Bills front office member to be their new GM.

If only there was some recent precedent we could look to to see how this may work out for them.

"The NFL's Rooney Rule rewards teams that develop minority candidates for general manager (GM) and head coach positions with compensatory draft picks:

Compensation

Teams receive a third-round compensatory pick for two years if they lose a minority candidate to another team. If the team loses both a coach and an executive, the pick is extended for a third year."

The "problem" with the compensation aspect of the Rooney Rule is that it arguably disincentivizes  a team from hiring from a divisional or even conference rival.

I'd be willing to trade Gray for two 3rd round picks but I have a hard time believing that the Jets will be the team that hires him.

Talk about a suicidal career move, it’s like being the HC under Dan Snyder…,

I imagine anyone who values their career will think long and hard about agreeing to work for the family that owns the jets and what it means long term.

the flip side is if he is confident in his abilities and can hire his own people there is no reason not to take the job.

Hopefully if he does he doesn’t make Brady or babich the head coach which is the real issue.

Wasn't Belichick getting drafting advice from his dog at one point?

Judging by the results, I think they were taking turns making picks. We know the actual scouts are thrown out of the process before the draft.

Yeah, he’s a genius, but not in all the ways he thinks he is.

Von could be co-GM and focus on defense while Rodgers oversees GM duties for the offense. Revolutionary. Can’t miss. The Jets should definitely make that happen.

It's behind a pay wall but in brief Jeremy Fowler suggests Terrance Gray would be one of a few names on the shortlist for the Jets GM job. If that were to happen, Bills would get two extra 3rd round picks, so keep your fingers crossed!

for 2 extra 3rd rounders??  Give him a cardboard box and walk him out!

I don’t know. I couldn’t care less if a division rival received 2 thirds from the NFL if I got the guy I wanted to run the football side of things. It isn’t worth settling for such an important position within an organization.

The Giants took Daboll and Schoen.  How has that worked out?

It's so strange that the Bills are one of the best run organizations in the NFL and the Sabres one of the worst with the same owner.
