Much like Milano the defense is a lot different when Bernard is out there. Hopefully both guys can be healthy for the playoffs.

I talked to Cornelius Bennett once about Tremaine Edmunds once and he said if he had arms as long as him he would have twice the number of interceptions.

Honestly probably not that much earlier than we took him. Late 2nd if I had to guess. He has been injury prone and is pretty scheme specific IMO.

That's Derrik Klassen who I actually really like, but I don't agree with him at all on Benford. The play he made in 1v1 coverage against Deandre Hopkins to pop the ball out as they went to the ground was not just McDermott's scheme. I don't know what else Benford needs to do to get out from underneath Dane Jackson and Levi Wallace's shadow. He's delivered in every big moment this year and opposing offenses are barely even throwing the ball in his direction.

I forget who, but I believe it was Orlovsky who watched the tape, and said that TB was calling out the plays, and knew exactly what KC was going to do, before they did it.  Mentioned that TB got upset with Taron on the TD, because he knew what was going to happen before it happened. My intent wasn't to bash Edmunds, but since others are still defending him, I have to say, that Edmunds was the def of average.  Elite Physical traits, but below average instincts = average linebacker.

 

Yes.....he took up space, but more is needed out of the QB of your defense, so much more.  

The 3rd and 18 completion by Desean Watson in the playoffs was enough to show that Edmunds was an average Linebacker.

The most ridiculous part of watching Bernard be awesome and make big play after big play is remembering just how inept and ridiculous the Edmunds truthers were. Aj Klein at the end of his prime was literally better than Edmunds in 20 and 21 and cover 1 would make excuses over and over lol. It was embarrassing. Constant rhetoric about taking up space because of his arm length 😭 

 

Edmunds was drafted with Allen in the first Rd and for the big moments. 

 

Ppl constantly bring up McDermott and the 13 seconds game but Edmunds didn't make one single play all game and was completely invisible. Not a tfl, not a sack, not a big hit, not a tipped pass, literally nothing. 

 

So glad he's gone

The most embarrassing part for his defenders was watching Klein come in and start making plays but simultaneously watch ppl try to twist themselves into a pretzel that we weren't really seeing that and Edmunds impact is not always seen etc lol

Thanks for adding the person's name Happy, although I posted the comment, I didn't care enough to go back and listen for his name. I'd say I enjoyed the podcast and listening to his thoughts in general (as a recap, I had mentioned he was on the Shout podcast the other day). The last question he was asked was about contract extensions for Benford and Bernard and he wasn't that positive about either. Bernard he said is very tricky because he isn't good against the run and I don't agree with this either. To be honest, when I heard his response to this question, it made me reconsider if I put any credence to anything he said, those comments made me think he was a typical national media person who doesn't have time to analyze the Bills specifically. Maybe a bit harsh on my part.

Benford is playing like a top 5 CB. Chiefs wrs couldn't get open much.

I'm not immune to it. I nearly cried when they drafted Josh Allen. I'm just saying...the discrepancy of opinion between draft night and now would make for some humorous reading.
