I have no idea. He'd be first round for sure, along with Benford. There aren't 32 players in that draft better than them. 1 Quote

I'm not immune to it. I nearly cried when they drafted Josh Allen. I'm just saying...the discrepancy of opinion between draft night and now would make for some humorous reading. I didn't post about it at the time, but when we picked Bernard, one of my buds texted me, quote: "The Bills just drafted Tingus Pingus!" To this day, we still text "TINGUS!" when Bernard makes a huge play. Gotta embrace it when you're wrong, sometimes. Makes for a laugh. 3 Quote

This morning I listened to the Shout podcast. They had someone from The Athletic on for most of the show. One of the last questions was asking about resigning players. The guy wasn't that high on either Benford or Bernard. He wasn't negative, but for Benford he was basically saying it's all McD. and for Bernard it was that he's not very good against the run. I don't agree with either of these statements (although I do agree that McD. absolutely gets the most out of the secondary), just wanted to share an outside media person's take. Quote

Leave it to you to misread the drafting of a real life demigod great white shark with legs. 1 Quote

He's wrong, plain and simple. Spotrac lists Benford's value at $18 million per year. They don't have a value for Bernard yet because he isn't a free agent till 2026, but he'll be valued highly. But thanks for sharing. Edited November 20 by MJS 2 Quote
Joe Mama Posted November 20 Posted November 20 When others said he was undersized, I argued he was essentially the same size as another pretty good Baylor Bear Linebacker (Mike Singletary). Needs to work on the Singletary wide eyed stare. Quote
Niagara Bill Posted November 20 Posted November 20 Bernard's interception in the last minute or so was, to me, one of the most incredible defensive plays I can recall. Yes he maybe a little under sized, a little injury prone maybe. But few people in NFL history could react and close that fast and make that play. In my mind, equal to Josh's great play that few QB can make. He is a pleasure to cheer for. 1 Quote

I thought he looked great on film and would be a perfect fit for this defense. Same thing with the Shakir pick. You could see that both of them were just "football players." Quote
Albany,n.y. Posted November 20 Posted November 20 I hated the pick-no not when he was drafted, but Sunday's interception. While it didn't cost the Bills because of the time left on the clock, when will defenders learn not to intercept on 4th down & long. If this was the middle of the game, he would have cost the Bills field position. Just like on a Hail Mary, just knock the ball down. Intercepting on 4th down & not gaining yardage is fundamentally unsound. 1 Quote

I posted it after the game, but I feel that Bernard's intelligent enough he goaded Mahomes into making that throw. Kelce is his security blanket over the middle, especially late in games, everyone knows it. Stay far enough off him to make it look like an open window but keep a good angle and slam it shut once the ball is in the air. 2 2 Quote

If I recall, the Jets "won" the draft the last 2 or 3 years. Hasn’t turned out that way. Lol Quote
Bob in STL Posted November 20 Posted November 20 What an excellent Bills Braintrust. McD knowing exactly what he needs. Scouts doing their jobs. Another excellent pick by Beane. Followed by the coaching and development to get him ready. On top of that he fits the team culture. 1 Quote

Someone shoulda taught his mama to diagnose offensive plays better to put her womb in a better position to make the tackle. 1 Quote

Stats like interceptions and sacks mean so much to these players individually. They negotiate contracts based on them, and it even directly led to Bernard getting the DPOW award. Quote
