BuffaloMatt Posted November 20 Posted November 20 I am just looking to go 1-0 versus SF! Then repeat the following week, etc. 2 1 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted November 20 Posted November 20 This might be the "Game of the Year" on paper, but we'll see how it plays out on the field. We already have the Division and a playoff spot all but officially locked up, and may see us clinch the AFC East before we even step on the field again against San Francisco. I'm sure the team wants to win, but depending what the battle for the #1 seed looks like by then, it may not be a must-win game. Given the turf condition in Detroit and its propensity for season ending ACL blow outs, I'm just as fine taking it easy in this game and proceeding with caution. Plus, I feel like whenever there is a Super Bowl rematch of teams that played earlier in the season it always flips and whoever won in the regular season loses the Super Bowl. Quote
Dan Darragh Posted November 20 Posted November 20 Bills are 4-1 all time at Ford Field, including wins against the Browns and the Jets. We like playing there. 1 Quote
Bimmer323i Posted November 20 Posted November 20 16 hours ago, Mikie2times said: As many of you recall, we met last on Thanksgiving day, 2022. We won that game by the slimmest of margins 28-25 with Allen going nearly the length of the field in seconds to set up a game winning field goal. Detroit had us on the ropes in that game. We were totally off balance on defense often seeing Detroit run the ball on third down regardless of distance. They went 3 for 3 that day on 4th down conversions. It had that "escape" feel when it was over. It likely only went that direction as a result of Detroit getting too conservative at the very end, opting for a field goal in 4th and short vs going for it with a first down likely ending the game. Since that game the collective record of the two teams is 55-18. Detroit has a 1.5 game edge on us since then. We will be facing elite coaching, excellent power run game and rightfully, the current Super Bowl favorite. We will have aspirations of the #1 seed on the line as Detroit is far and away the hardest game left on our schedule. Detroit is also becoming a rather difficult place to play. It's pretty simple to me, if we really want to know how this team stacks up for a potential Super Bowl run you will know after that game. They can throw haymaker and have balance like the Colts, Bengals, Titans, and Ravens in the past, teams that were able to knock us out when so few can. They're very hard nose. Houston just beat the living crap out of them and they found a way. As all this relates to the timing of the KC game, well, massive win, clearly. They either round into playoff form, at which point I will have a hard time drawing any conclusions from it or they won't, at which point we have bigger fish to fry. Detroit being the biggest if we can eventually make it that far. I just don't see anybody in the NFC pushing them. Another side note, being from that area, a Detroit & Buffalo Super Bowl would be epic. I also imagine it would be a massive ratings draw. Already getting chills for this one. Yep… Remember that freaking bullet he ripped to Diggs I believe… He threw it so hard I’m surprised he caught it Quote

If he keeps playing like he has the past few weeks, the numbers won't be good enough for voters unless the team keeps winning. He's got 23 total TDs, but his INTs are ramping up while the TDs are coming along at the same rate. If the Bills win out, then voters might overlook that. But if they drop a couple more games, Allen's numbers are going to need to be a lot more impressive to win MVP Quote
Draconator Posted November 20 Posted November 20 I'll be at this game with a good friend of mine who has Lions season tickets. I can't wait! 1 Quote

Strongly disagree: The Bills were without Terrell Bernard The Bills were without Taron Johnson The Bills were forced to play Cole Bishop for most of the game when Taylor Rapp went down It was week 5 and the Bills offense was in the doldrums with all the new passing game parts not synced up yet Amari Cooper was not a Buffalo Bill at that time In short, it was the low point of the season for us and the high point for them. In the context of an NFL season that game is almost ancient history. 3 hours ago, djp14150 said: thry coukd move this to nbc/ Sunday night problrm is it’s not solo. If Baltimore doesn’t finish with at least the #2 seed I don’t think they’ll give it to him a third time. Of the 4 teams in line for the 1st or 2nd seed in both conferences Allen has best chance. He is, and should be, the betting favorite and front runner right now, but its a narrow lead. But any hiccup and he will fall back behind again on any given week. Yep, one week ago people were saying Lamar was a lock. Narratives can flip pretty easily. I do think if the Bills beat the Lions and 4 of the other 5 (14-3), there won’t be another player in the league with a better resume than Allen. Bills lose to Lions, really could put Goff to the top of the discussion, given he’s their QB and some really solid numbers he’s put up for most of the season. 1 Quote

I agree with that, but the most of the media (with the exception of Nick Wright) seems to be ready to give the crown back to Lamar the second they start stringing together wins again. And if not him, the Lions are everyone's 2nd favorite team right now, so I could definitely see a scenario where Goff gets the MVP if the Lions keep steamrolling people & the Bills lose a couple more games. I’d only put money on Goff at 6/1 to catch Allen at this point. Yes, Lamar could take it right back, but he’s at like 2/1. And Lamar has a remaining schedule which includes Chargers, Eagles, Steelers, Texans and Browns, all of whom can be pretty solid defenses. Goff can catch Allen if Lions keep steamrolling, including beating the Bills. I think that’s more likely than Lamar outplaying Allen the rest of the way. 1 Quote

It’s been surreal this season watching Nick Wright on multiple occasions defended Allen and the Bills. After Sunday most of the media is back on the Bills bandwagon. So he’ll probably go back to taking the other stance the rest of this season. Quote

And I thought he'd immediately revert back after this weekend, but instead he's making the rounds gloating about how right he was on the Bills. Just saw his podcast where he said the Bills are the team he'd least like to see in the playoffs, so maybe he's going to stick it out. But either way, he definitely doesn't like the "Lamar for MVP" stuff. It probably has to do with not wanting Lamar to have more MVPs than Mahomes, but he's been saying Lamar's overrated all year 😅 1 Quote

bigK14094 Posted November 20 Posted November 20 Lions may get Milano and three lbs on the field if they try to run on the Bills. D Williams is an asset out there, and I don't like him on the bench. Quote

Looking to go 6-0 at home is all any fan should be focusing on right now! 51 minutes ago, Sierra Foothills said: Strongly disagree: The Bills were without Terrell Bernard The Bills were without Taron Johnson The Bills were forced to play Cole Bishop for most of the game when Taylor Rapp went down It was week 5 and the Bills offense was in the doldrums with all the new passing game parts not synced up yet Amari Cooper was not a Buffalo Bill at that time In short, it was the low point of the season for us and the high point for them. DCofNC Posted November 20 Posted November 20 That’s a real test, they are, in my eyes, the best in the league. It’s going to be interesting to see if the D can slow that team down. Quote

This is the time of year when both Fox and CBS have doubleheaders and the Bills-Lions game is up against the Steelers-Eagles. Both are interconference games that will only have meaning independently for each team. Probably will be billed as two potential Super Bowl matchups. 1 Quote
