Who are the other voters outside of the 50 AP?

I don’t believe all 50 are AP anymore. They’ve mixed in some sports talk and tv reporters such as Aditiwhatever, Orlovsky and Kimes. Still a lot of sportswriters but not all.

I don’t think the list is as prestigious as you think it is.  I don’t think the announcers were lying she likely has a vote.  Look at last years list of voters it’s not awe inspiring.

Yeah but when you take into account there's 150,000 sports writers in the country and there's only 50 who get the vote... It's certainly is select

I don't think it's an end all be all..

Butt the list is fairly static and I have a list of all 50 writers from last year who voted and she was not one of them.. CBS had four voters maybe five and she wasn't one of them last year

So somebody must have got canned off the list if she got it

The Lions dominating win over the Vikings in which late in the 4th quarter Minn still hasn't scored a TD also helps Allen's case for MVP.  That victory at Detroit where Allen had a fantastic game looks even better today.

And watching the game and Darnold being so affected by the pressure you couldn't help but think that Josh would be doing more to make something out of nothing

Bill Barnwell of ESPN just chimed in with his prediction for MVP on SVP’s nightly show and oh so predictability announced Lamar Jackson will win MVP. The vast majority of ESPN talking pie holes jumped off the Allen MVP train within the last 3 weeks. Greeny, Orlavsky and Rex still in Allen’s corner. At least Orlavsky gets an actual vote.

Thanks for that list. I hadn't seen it. I heard her say it in the 4th quarter. It didn't sound like she was kidding. Anybody else hear her say it?

Yes. She definitely mentioned it and she also mentioned that she is 50-50 on Allen and Jackson.

hopefully Micah has embraced Josh now

Someone might need to spell it out to me

Can someone tell Micah (and everyone else) that Josh played 107 fewer snaps than Lamar?

That's more than a game and a half worth of snaps when you consider the average NFL game has 63 snaps.

Anyone think if Allen wasn't pulled so consistently from games that he couldn't get another 550 yards, 2 TDs and 5 1st downs???

MVP was an agenda for the Ravens, clearly.

Against the Giants the Ravens are up 28-3 as the 4th quarter starts and they get the ball back because of a turnover on downs. Lamar stayed in the game for another TD.

Would Josh?

In a game that was 31-2 on Christmas day, Lamar stayed in for a drive to start the 4th quarter.

Would Josh?

In a game that was 38-10 to end the 3rd quarter against the Broncos, Lamar stayed in to lead another FG drive.

Would Josh?

Lamar was also in against the 3 win browns until like 4 mins left of the 4th quarter.

Josh lost to 3 playoff caliber teams. Lamar lost to the terrible Browns & Raiders.  And as we all know Lamar will fold in the playoffs,  like he always does ( 75 qb rating ).

All division winners and on the road with two by less than three points.

Going off on a tangent, but it's too bad failed 4th downs don't count as a turnover. Lamar was 0/3 on 4th downs last night. Including the last play of the 1st half where he was too cowardly to throw a hail mary and risk his precious QB rating

I noticed this too. Surprised me, I didn't think Lamar was so conscious of stats. I have never seen Josh refuse to risk an INT like that.

They are glazing Lamar all over the shows this morning.  Some on The Facility think Lamar deserves it, but Shady says Allen has the best claim because he doesn't have a Derrick Henry that defenses must account for.  Chase thinks Lamar but says Allen sat for over 10 Qtrs and that obviously skews the stats. They won't be upset either way.  Acho says he's going to watch more film on Lamar's best and worst game's and same for Allen.  He claims he is not decided yet.

Voting is Wednesday, Jan. 8th at 5:00pm

Yeah, he said he had an "epiphany" over the weekend and thought about 45 total TDs and 4 ints.  and Lamar did enough to earn MVP.

Another CBS writer must have been booted off because she definitely has not had a vote for The last 5 years

And she wasn't on the list last year

OK guys, for the last time.

There are (at least) two organizations that give out an NFL MVP award.

One is CBS sports.  https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/nfl/2024-nfl-awards-cbs-sports-experts-cast-final-votes-for-mvp-coach-of-the-year-and-more-for-nfl-honors/ar-BB1hCmcE

The voters (32): Brett Anderson, Cody Benjamin, John Breech, Doug Clawson, Bill Cowher, Jordan Dajani, Bryan DeArdo, Leger Douzable, Jared Dubin, Josh Edwards, Jay Feely, Emory Hunt, Eric Kernish, Jeff Kerr, Aditi Kinkhabwala, Kyle Long, Joel Magaraci, Bryant McFadden, Garrett Podell, Pete Prisco, Brady Quinn, Phil Simms, Kyle Stackpole, Kevin Steimle, Tyler Sullivan, Chris Trapasso, Amy Trask, Brock Vereen, Evan Washburn, JJ Watt, Ryan Wilson, Tracy Wolfson

THIS IS NOT THE AWARD RECOGNIZED BY THE NFL as the "official" MVP award.  ITs just CBS tryiing to drum up clicks.

The award recognized by the NFL is the AP award.

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/heres-the-full-list-of-the-50-ap-awards-voters

This includes writers and journalists from numerous outlets, all are well-established reporters. 4 CBS journalists made this list.  The list available is last years list, but it doenst change much year to year.  Here are the 4 CBS reporters from last year:  Charles Davis, Esiason, Jonathan Jones, Adam Schein.  Call me crazy, but I dont see a sideline reporter replacing any of these guys.

I will never bet on Josh to win MVP again.  The back and forth and politics is agony.  Ravens fans are completely obnoxious and make me puke.  If voters don’t realize the value that Josh brings to this team this season, I don’t know when they ever will.  Regardless of who wins MVP, just want this team to obliterate anyone that gets in their way in the next four games.
