Allen now down to between -400 to -500 for MVP after today's performance.

Well now he is on pace for 43 TDs after today's game, so could easily be his 5th straight 40+ TD season, extending his own record.

Allen -500 and Barkley +350.  We all know Josh should win it.  A good performance vs Detroit should seal it, but I do think a loss would leave the door slightly open.  Mostly because voters want to see the MVP win in these big late Sunday window national games,  not lose them.

Assuming he doesn’t melt down and plays at least average the rest of the way and we lose the Detroit game and win the rest to go 13-4 I don’t think there’s a chance Josh doesn’t win mvp

There’s just too many narratives going in his favor this year

Think about it, there was a full six-game stretch to start the season where Mahomes totaled 6 TDs and 8 int’s.  Six full games!

Then you see the silliness that Allen displayed yesterday in one game.

Havn't gone through this thread not sure if this has been posted - here are the voters.  I've seen some of the ESPN people say pro-Josh things wrt the MVP - not sure if others have heard other people on the list talk about it.

I'm still concerned there will be some percentage that will feel the need to be 'cute' and vote Saquon because that is against the normal grain

This upcoming weekend will be Josh’s best chance to “extend” his lead over Barkley, in my opinion.  Pittsburgh is Saquon’s toughest run opponent the rest of the way, whereas the Lions represent the biggest “challenge” for Josh the rest of the way.  So if we can win while Saquon potentially gets slowed down and possibly loses, that would hopefully add to the separation and lessen the chance of Saquon reaching the rushing title while increasing our chance of 14-3.

Past this weekend, I’m concerned the narrative could start to shift back towards Barkley in the last three weeks, given the poor run D’s he faces including his ex-team in Week 18.  If Barkley reaches the rushing title, will be interesting to see if that matters to voters or not.

If he puts up half the performance he did against the Lions that he did against the Rams, I don't see his line moving.

I honestly think most voters are already penning Barkley as OPOY.

Yeah and they're not going to give both of those to one player and they're just more comfortable giving MVP to a QB and OPOY to another position.

I've never seen this list before so I appreciate it.

At a quick glance, I'd say 30 of the names already have Allen as MVP and not going to change their mind about it unless Allen has a Jets like performance (3 INTs) next week and Barkley has 150+ for 2-3 TDs.

I don’t care who they give it to. I know who the best player in the world is.

Josh Allen is the greatest professional athlete in the world today, but he might not have the most important hardware to prove it.

Aside from their integrity, what’s to keep each of these folks from either sharing their votes with each other and then passing along to friends to go place bets, or working with the books to throw out comments about certain players, to influence the betting markets?

Funny enough, I just watched "eight men out" last night.  That's kind of why.  If enough people know, then everyone is going to know "the fix is in".  And I don't think most of these people that have a vote care enough to get them to bet on someone that is -400 or +350 or even +1000 to give up their integrity.

If you were telling one of these people that someone at +5000 or higher might be the favorite, then I could see it happening.

Josh is going to win, there’s no real doubt at this point.  He obviously deserves it, but it’s also pretty clear that the organization has made it a priority to ensure that he brings it home.  It’s free money at this point.

One thing about KC continuing to win and being 12-1 is that one blemish is Josh and the Bills.  If they can put a dent into Detroit that’s ballgame for the MVP.  Like others said, probably his regardless.

If he doesn't win there is a systemic and collusionary effort on the part of the MVP voters to prevent him from getting it and they should be investigated for impropriety and vote selling like back in the days when popes used to be elected based on bribing Cardinals with money and promises of favors for votes.
