Hopefully even though this did not appear on the stat sheet as a completion, the voters take a hard look at this play:

Unblocked blitzer on the edge in addition to Edwards blowing the switch and creating a free rusher inside has Allen running for his life and he still uncorks a 40 yrd laser on a dead sprint and into a shoebox that hits a WR in the hands on the run.

It's just unreal and we see it week after week after week. At this point I'm out of superlatives and am going to have to consult a thesaurus.

I get the similarity and the desire to compare him to the greats. But he does something almost every single week that Elway could only dream of even trying.

The word unicorn gets thrown around too much but there's really not much of a better descriptor.

He just keeps doing things that nobody has ever seen anybody do before, and he won't stop.

For the love of gawd, somebody make him stop; it's freaking meowt!

It's truly remarkable. All we need is a couple rings and he's probably going to enter goat status

It's crazy we haven't won a super bowl yet. But mahomes is also an all time all time great

So...Mahomes is the best in your opinion?

I don't follow the Chiefs closely. The few earlier games I saw, including the Chiefs Bills, I don't know  he maximized the best of his weapons.

No QB has ever won a 3rd MVP until winning a championship.

I misspoke and thought it was 2.

It's over. Allen should get almost every vote.

Chris broussaard actually said Allen is going to win it, and he gave the best methodology and reasoning for why imo yesterday.

Yeah, i agree.  That's why I've been posting everyday in this thread for 2 months. lol.   Allen should be a lock.

The man has carried the Bills to a 13-3 record.  The same Bills who many people said would be 2nd or 3rd in the division, and would definitely take a step backwards.

These other fan bases celebrate 40+ TDs like it's the greatest accomplishment.  Allen rolls out of bed and puts up 40 TDs every season.

As Mike Greenberg said on his show this morning.  Nothing against Lamar or anyone else, it feels like it's Josh Allen's time to win it.

I hate that our social media fan fighting has gone from the Chiefs to the Ravens and Bengals. It just means we’ve fallen back a level.

I don’t get involved in the fighting. Eyes still on the prize. MVP doesn’t mean anything.

Thanks for sharing this - I missed that play but heard it mentioned, and since it was a drop, it didn't make it on any of the highlight reels.

Well 2 things can happen concurrently, he could win the MVP and the SB.

That and the throw where his back foot is up in the air in the defenders grasp. The guy's a mutant.

There's nothing that can be done with the Chiefs fans until 1 to 2 things happen.

Why isn't Darnold MVP?  Fished out of another garbage can to lead the Vikes to 14-2 in the toughest division in the NFL.

Because people watch the games and he clearly is not the engine that drives that train. I would compare his season to Brock Purdy last year. I had said all along it was a joke that Purdy was in the MVP conversation and that he would fall back to earth if he lost even just a little of his absurdly good supporting cast. This year I feel vindicated in that take. Darnold is the same. He still makes his share of typical dumb Darnold mistakes but they don't punish the team because they have such a high margin for error. Jefferson is going to be a 1st ballot Hall of Famer. Addison has been a very good #2. Aaron Jones is close to elite. The OL is stout. The play caller is elite. You can't have all of that as a QB and be in the MVP conversation unless you have a historic season. Minnesota instead ranks 12th in YPG and 9th in PPG. An MVP QB would have that group at #1 in both categories.

Some media person compared him to Gretsky, Jordan, Ali, and Ohtani. I think he might be right. Lamar may have stats and some nice plays, and Burrows makes excellent throws on a regular basis, but Allen isn't just on another level; he's in a different league altogether. The clip above shows that even his teammates can't keep up with his abilities. I've watched football for 40-plus years and seen some great quarterbacks, but I've never seen anything like this. Every game he makes throws that you just don't see other human beings make.

I champion this scenario.  Lamar wins the MVP and Allen destroys him in the divisional round making Lamar a 3 time MVP bust

I think Mahomes, Burrow, and Lamar make the Pro Bowl.  Josh wins MVP and we beat Ravens in divisional round.  Lose to Chiefs in AFC Championship game.

the problem with this fun idea is the MVP isn't announced until around the Super Bowl

True but I would hope Bills fans would be going equally ballistic if Lamar were the betting favorite now, and we'd be flooding other people timelines.

There are definitely some Bills fans on there that I would lump in with them too. Its just crazy. I use that twitter account mostly for gaming stuff and my entire timeline is flooded with all this MVP bs because I looked at one or two posts.

The best comparison I've been able to come up with is totally Buffalo-centric but accurate from my perspective.

He reminds of Hasek because every freaking time I turn on the TV I end up doing double-takes to make sure that I actually saw what I thought I just saw.
