I believe that gift request was in his wedding registry

Before that...Warner in 99.

It doesn't happen often. Used to be like the Madden curse. Where guy on the cover got hurt.

Unfortunately, at this point I'm not sure Lamar would be an undeserving winner.

Allen has to be great against the Jets.

Yea he deserves it this year. But with Lamar he wins it win he deserves it, and when he does not. Allen doesn't get that benefit.

I've also said before that I don't think Allen will ever win an MVP. I thought I was going to be proven wrong this year, but maybe not. The bias against him is real, and strong. He's got an uphill battle every year.

I don’t think there’s a bias against Josh, Lamar has had a great season himself.  The voters have valued wins more than stats alone in recent years.  That’s why I’m pretty confident that if Josh just leads the team to victory on Sunday and clinches the 2 seed, he’ll still earn MVP over Lamar.  If Josh doesn’t win after that, I could see otherwise about a bias.  Some actually believe there’s a bias in favor of Josh this year, since he hasn’t won an MVP yet while Lamar has two, even though they both put up ridiculous numbers and wins.

Problem is Lamar was undeserving last year. I do think he is deserving this year just as Allen is as well. But last year was a joke.

If the Bills come out holding their best stuff back again I don’t see Allen having a good enough game to put Lamar out of reach.

But I do think a handful of voters have already decided Allen is the MVP regardless of these final games do to Allen and the Bills having the two biggest wins of the regular season and better seeding the Ravens. We will have to hope those tow facts hold a lot of water come the end of the season voting.

I’ll say it again. All this MVP talk is just hype.  The media needs something to talk about.  That’s it.   And the only reason Lamar is in the conversation is because they gave it to him when he clearly didn’t earn it… now that he has better stats.

In the end…. Just beat them all in the playoffs. Thats all that really matters.

I'd have less issues in Jackson winning it this year than last year. Last year was farcical and most of my annoyance is with that. It feels like Josh is owed one.

I understand team above player blah blah.

But play Allen in week 18 and go for the MVP. The very injured guys can rest. Patriots aren't going to fool us twice.

I've never understood "rest to avoid injuries." Injuries can happen at any time. SB, mini camp, regular season.

Do you think Allen could ever win with 29 total TDs? No chance in hell IMO.

Which is why if Allen had won last year, I would not give two f's about Lamar winning this year.

Honestly, the last couple of weeks it has looked to me like the Ravens are going out of their way to pad Lamar's stats.

Bills had a very similar game against the Jags that the Ravens just had vs the Giants except Allen had 2 pass attempts in the entire second half of that game. Allen could have had 6 TDs that game without breaking a sweat. Maybe 7.

Lamar had the mic on and it picked up his offensive coordinator asking if he wanted another TD. Getting him MVP and padding stats seems to be an organizational goal.

Definitely not.

BTW, I've got plenty of Chiefs, Packers, and Steelers friends. All have said they would rather face Lamar in the postseason than Allen.

There's no question who plays better in big games.

This drive was up 28-7 in the 4th quarter LOL

The drive ended with 10:46 left.  Started at the beginning of the 4th or possibly late 3rd. That's not really "padding stats" time.

If Josh wins MVP great.  If he doesn’t.  Great.

1 accolades trumps them all…Super Bowl champion

Let's be honest.

There's a much greater chance of Allen winning MVP than this team holding up the Lombardi trophy on February 9th. That goes for most teams.

So yeah....it would be great to see our guy win MVP.

I will say it over and over. Lamar is putting up good stats to wide open receivers because of Derrick Henry. Josh has adjusted his game to be more efficient because of his weapons lack of elite talent. Lamar is possibly his teams 2nd best weapon where as Josh is the elite talent with peices around him.

Have we been the one seed with Josh before, defeating the other one seed during the regular season with an impressive performance?

The only thing impressive by that performance was the Ravens D having 4 INTs. Lamar had like one scoring drive that started in Baltimores zone
