No way they have graphics and stuff made that fast. They are already prepared. You could just have them ready for each award… just in case 1 Quote

You can have a great back or not. The only thing that matters is a QB. Bills fans should recognize this by now. With or without Barkley, the Giants are still ass without a QB. The Bills were ass with a lot of great RB's. The flip side of signing Barkley and letting DJ walk is that what if DJ blossomed into a Goff-level QB and their new rookie sucked? That would be even worse. They bet on Jones. They were wrong. But you never go wrong prioritizing any kind of stability at the QB position over literally everything else tbh. I mostly agree. Especially in theory. But when the specific situation sticks you with Dnaiel Jones... they should have known better. Quote

They just werent realistic as to what that season really was, who Jones really is, and what they still needed to do. Getting to the playoffs was huge for Giants fans. I think they kind of knew they weren’t going to go far, but needed belief in the new regime. Just like when Buffalo broke the drought although not as monumental 1 Quote

They did what the owner wanted and it blew up. He had enough grace to not pin it all on them and fire them when it was clearly a disaster. Like @GoBills808, that lucky season where the G-Men snuck in validated Mara in a way and put them in a really bad spot. I think the Giants have a brighter future today if they went 6-11 that year instead. It was a little bit different than the Bills situation where TT was actively quite bad at QB, had already taken a paycut, and was closer to the end of his career as a starter. The Bills were all aligned TT wasn't the guy, regardless of how 2017 ended. The Giants were not. 1 Quote

NoSaint Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago 9 minutes ago, FireChans said: All winning a few more games with a Barkley does is push them further and further from the top of the board. The Giants, Mara specifically, made a mistake in mandating that DJ was his boy and that Schoen and Daboll were effectively married to him. Once that's the "plan," paying Barkley is a mistake. If DJ works, well you probably don't want to pay both. If DJ doesn't and flames out spectacularly? Having a great RB to win 6 games instead of 3 is drought era Bills magic. The Giants will try to find a QB now. If they succeed, all will be forgiven, if they fail, heads will roll. Especially because Malik will likely emerge as a superstar sooner than later with halfway competent QB play. generally what I’ve told giants fans. having a cornerstone back with no qb is a rough spot. You put hard mileage on him only to make it harder for you to get a qb? Their calculus becomes something like darnold/cousins plus saquon? I guess? that playoff season simultaneously bought them time but also closed a lot of paths forward 1 Quote
