But letting him go to a division rival, have an incredible statistical season, and make the Super Bowl has to sting. He was a FA, and the Giants offered to match the Eagles offer. He chose to go there. There was nothing the Giants could do. Quote

IMO worth the resign for the experience in the system and just hope someone beats him out. Also good backup to have in that case. Quote

And Barkley season would have been a shell of what it was had he played with the Giants and everyone would have been laughing at them for paying a RB so much money when they still suck. There was no winning for the Giants. They were stupid to take a RB 2nd overall in a QB rich draft…would have been stupid to pay him big money when they have a train wreck of a QB situation, and yet would still seem stupid to let him leave to a division rival and go off. Moral of the story: Giants are just stupid lol They made the right choice imo. It sucks for them that it strengthened a division rival but it was the correct move 3 Quote

ToGoGo Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Hamlin not winning Comeback Player this year or last year is a big fumble by the NFL. 1 Quote

Moral of the story: Giants are just stupid lol Definitely agree that it was dumb to draft him #2 overall. I have to imagine if there was a 2018 redraft, Josh and Lamar go #1 and #2 in either order. That said, I think Schoen messed it up big time last year by choosing to stick with a QB that everyone in that building had to know wasnt the guy. Even with the big salary in 2024. They spent a lot of time scouting Jayden Daniels. Schoen made a number of attempts to move up in the draft. They had to know Jones was on his way out. If that's the case, then pay Barkley with a plan to draft a QB in 2025 and have your QB on a rookie deal while paying your RB. Instead they got both wrong. I'm sure Beane has an open door for when Schoen needs a job as an asst GM. 1 Quote

You pay your superstar RB, improve your OL, and draft a QB. Prioritizing Jones made even less sense. At least the other route is a long term plan. 1 Quote
