If I were a conspiracy guy, I would suspect that the league is worried about the increasing grumbling that the KC-Buffalo game was rigged, and to quell it is now twisting arms to swing the MVP vote to Allen. Throw 'em a bone to shut 'em up.

I’ll take the bone if they throw it. lol.

We do know of at least a couple voters  (Peter King among them), that said they differentiate MVP from First Team All Pro. We don’t know how many others behind the scenes feel that way but it probably needs to be at least 6.

Realistically All pro is a stat based award given to usually the best statistical quarterback 

 

MVP obviously takes stats into question but the criteria of importance to your team and record is also weighed compared to just the statistics
