Not sure what you mean?

I’ve said all along whoever is favored last will win the MVP. Vegas odds always tell the correct story. I’ve  said it all along.

You should probably know what you are talking about it before you speak.

I know I watched you say dozens of times Allen had it all wrapped up because Vegas Vegas Vegas. That’s what you said. Until today.

I know someone who knows an MVP voter.  This voter hinted after the Bills/Detroit game that Allen was going to win it.  I heard this 3rd hand.  Whatever turned the tide amongst the 50 voters happened in week 16.  Josh struggled vs NE and only threw for 154 yards and had a QBR of 67.3.

Meanwhile Lamar/Henry had a super game vs Pittsburgh and won big to take over the division. He only threw 23 times but tossed 3 TDs and had a 115.3 QBR.  The O had over 400 yards.

I still don’t think Josh is completely cooked.  The Bills have a better record and better seed. They have some marquis wins and Allen has some of the best splash plays of the season on National tv.  Winning the AFC East with 5 weeks remaining and coasting down the stretch may have cost him however. We’ll see in a few weeks.

These voters have the memory of an actual goldfish. They can only remember whatever shiny thing they saw most recently. I blame Tik Tok...

I know I said it earlier tonight but that Patriots game will cost Josh. He wasn't even bad, just average for him. He was better against the Jets, but not to Rams/Lions level. He didn't need to be. As Lamar was building up a head of steam to try and win the division, Josh was treading water. It's a shame a couple of drops and a penalty took away from some spectacular plays in his last two games as well.

It’s a shame Vegas has moved so much.  This is what I expected the whole time.  Lamar would start in the pro bowl, get first team AP, and offensive player of the year, but Josh would get MVP due to the definitions of the awards.  I honestly thought we were all on the same page.  Apparently not.

While id really like Josh to win an MVP to cement his legacy, if he does walk away empty handed again, I like the fire that is going to bring to the divisional round and on.

Allen was the big favorite at seasons end per Vegas. Now almost a week after the season has ended the odds change and we have a new favorite. I’m going to take a guess that this is the first time in modern history we have seen MVP odds change almost a week after the end of the season.

Let’s remember it is the job of Vegas to get about even money on both sides. Not necessarily to predict the winner.

Nothing has changed and as many have pointed out, Lamar being named first team all pro was a pretty likely outcome. But now the public is going to poor a lot of money in on Lamar’s side if the odds did not adjust so Vegas has to adjust Lamar’s odds incase Lamar were to win. I doubt anyone is running to put money on Allen now but really now would be the time to do so.

I think it could go either way.

No doubt Lamar would trade all MVPs for one SB MVP.

Would he? I'm honestly not so sure.

Lamar isn't the most egregious stat-padder I've ever seen, but he's extremely stat conscious. I think the individual awards matter a lot more to him than he likes to admit to the public.

Look at how Lamar handles plays where a turnover isn't the worst thing. For example: 3rd and long (outside FG range), 4th down attempts (with no open WR), or hail mary situations. Lamar would rather throw an incompletion or take a sack than risk an INT on a play like that. Josh almost seems to take joy in those kinds of plays and relishes chucking up low % deep balls. Josh has more "arm punts" over the last 2 seasons than Lamar has in his entire career.

Then you can take a look at how long Lamar is left in blowout victories before being benched.

Ravens up 41-10 with 8 minutes left against the Broncos still had Jackson and Henry in the game.

Ravens up 28-10 with 4 minutes left against the Browns still had Jackson and Henry in the game.

Ironically in the Bills/Ravens game Josh was benched before Lamar was.

In those last 8 minutes against Denver, Lamar had one run for 1 yard and 0 pass attempts.

In those last 4 minutes against Cleveland, Lamar had 0 runs and 0 pass attempts.

In the last 11 minutes against Buffalo, Lamar had 0 runs and 1 pass attempt.

I don't think that 1 yard is what made the difference in the MVP race. Does it really matter if he's benched vs. just catching a shotgun snap and handing the ball to someone else?

He probably does care about individual awards, just like every other athlete does. Most just lie to the media because it isn't cool to say they care.
