I don't know. in 2023 Lamar won that National TV road game vs San Fran late last season and he went from 2nd in the MVP race to leading at -180 with two weeks remaining and he was basically unanimous. Josh right now is the favorite at -1000, Lamar is second at +700. That is a grand canyon sized gap. Barkley fell all the way to +1300. Allen's last 4 games, all nationally televised in which two were on the road at quality teams. 1,114 passing yards 223 rush yards 15 TD's (8 passing, 7 rushing) 1 int/fumbles (zero the past 3 games) 0 sacks taken You can't play QB any better than that. Someone let me know when another QB puts together a 4 game stretch with a stat line like that. Not to mention he beat the best team in the AFC, the 9-0 Chiefs, and the best team in the NFC, 12-1 Lions. They have scored 30+ points in 11 games in which national media has said it's a down year for Buffalo and he doesn't have the talent around him like Lamar does or Philly/Detroit. Josh will not have to artificially inflate his stats against the Pats and Jets. Voters know those game might be "stay healthy" games for the Bills at this point. Josh proved it. Several TV commenters like Rex, Greenberg and Tedy Bruschi have said the race is over this morning. He left Detroit with the MVP in his carry on bag and it's awesome for him and the city of Buffalo. 2 4 Quote

He's playing Montana 89 playoff level right now combined with a few runs to keep the defense honest. It's unstoppable to stop if the bills don't turn the ball over and stay relatively healthy. It's why I'm predicting Allen is going to eviscerate everyone in the playoffs even worse than the last two weeks and do something similar to Montana in the 89 playoff run. I don't care who your QB is and I don't care if your defense is the 85 bears Nobody is stopping that dude Edited Monday at 02:36 PM by Kelly to Allen 2 Quote

Process Posted Monday at 02:45 PM Posted Monday at 02:45 PM One thing Lamar has going for him is schedule. Next two games are on primetime vs playoff teams. Meanwhile bills are on at 1pm vs terrible teams three times to end the season. Obviously if Bills win out and Josh Allen plays clean, it's over regardless. But if there is a slip up the door does open for Lamar a bit. Quote

He would literally have to have triple Josh Allen's production. Reason being is Lamar won it last year with decent stats but not extraordinary at all. His team was the 1 seed and had excellent D and special teams too. He flamed out in the playoffs, again. He doesn't beat Mahomes. Voters just aren't giving it to Lamar a 3rd time, especially when Allen is having the season he is having. 1 1 Quote

Dr. K Posted Monday at 03:03 PM Posted Monday at 03:03 PM I think Allen is great and I would love to see him win the MVP. But I for one am tired about all of the MVP talk. When it gets down to it, I bet Allen is, too. It's irrelevant to what is important for this team, which still has a lot of work to do. Allen needs to stay healthy, not win the MVP. The team needs to stay healthy. The defense needs to pull itself together. The defensive backfield has a lot of vulnerabilities that need to be dealt with. Milano is hurt again. Josh hurt his shoulder on a play that he needn't have made. The first thing I want to know after each game is what's the injury situation. All this MVP yammer is a distraction. I can't imagine anybody on the Bills is spending much time thinking about it. 3 1 Quote

I get your point, but I respectfully disagree. Josh Allen has been doubted, ridiculed, laughed at, and insulted his entire career. He has had to fight, claw, and scrap to get where he is. You all already know the story -- the no college offers, the 1,000 letters he wrote, the "if Josh Allen succeeds, he will have outsmarted basically all regular humans and the entirety of math itself" article, all of it -- so I won't go into more detail on it. But make no mistake: If we're talking about legacy, if we're talking about going down as an all-time great and a first ballot Hall of Famer, Josh Allen DOES need to win an MVP award. He absolutely does. Not only does he need it for his legacy, but he deserves to win it. For the work he puts in, for the way he has transformed this franchise, for the way he lifts up an entire region, for all the good he does in the community. He deserves it. Aside from needing the award to help cement his legacy, and deserving the award, I also just WANT him to win it. He's a good, kind, funny, genuine, selfless, awesome person and an All-World golden retriever lumberjack space alien with a howitzer for an arm, and *****, I want him to have an MVP on his resume. So yeah...I get it. It's all about a Lombardi. I'm sure Josh Allen would say the same thing, and I'm sure coach McDermott would say the same thing. But I, as a fan, don't have to say the same thing. I can admit it: I WANT JOSH ALLEN TO WIN THE MVP AWARD. I want it badly. Edited Monday at 03:11 PM by Logic 3 2 3 4 Quote

It separates him from all the "Hall of Very Good" players like he gets compared to sometimes like Philip Rivers. Look, we all want him and the Bills to win the Super Bowl. But that's not all in his control. The MVP is. When his career in Buffalo is over, and he moves back to his native California, I want this insane football player to leave Buffalo with some hardware.. and league MVP is the most massive chunk of hardware anyone can attain individually. Kelly to Allen Posted Monday at 03:55 PM Posted Monday at 03:55 PM Lamar is having a great year. But some of the accolades especially MVP need to stop until he performs at an " MVP level" in the playoffs.... You can't win a 3rd MVP while being terrible in the playoffs in your first 6 years.... That's always been the prevailing rule and what all the all time great QBs had to do before they got a second MVP I wouldn't want Allen getting his 2nd MVP regardless of the numbers until he won a ring.
