Winner: Jackson

I think Josh still has a path to MVP!

Lamar getting 1st team all pro is fine.  For the 1st time in NFL history a player led the league in Yards / pass and Yards / Run and by every old and new metric (qbr, pass rating/dvoa) was the most efficient QB on a good team against a harder Strength of Schedule than the bills.

BUT- Josh was very close and with no doubt a worse team. I think AP understands this (at least they should) and rightfully gives Lamar the 1st All Pro and should rightfully give Allen the "MOST VALUABLE" to his team trophy..

All-Pro is for the best player in the regular season. MVP is for the "most valuable" player to his team. At least in my mind. Either way- the one who gets past Mahomes is the real MVP...

Going to be honest, I've never heard of Polymarket. Doesn't look like any of the respected betting sites changed their odds.

I still expect Josh to win, but we'll see

im not seeing it listed on a couple sites

think if it goes back up it will have flipped

It doesn't make sense that first team AllPro wouldn't also be MVP over second team

I don't know... by the definition of the word "valuable" I think it could make perfect sense.

Even if you want to argue Lamar had a better year than Allen (I don't think he did... but for argument's sake), Lamar's value to his team isn't nearly as high as Josh.

The Ravens have 9 Pro Bowlers and the Bills have 2.

The Ravens have 4 All Pros and the Bills have 1.

The Ravens have 4 offensive players outside of Lamar who are either Pro Bowlers or All-Pros.

The Bills have 1 offensive player outside of Josh who is a Pro Bowler or All-Pro... and it's just Dion as a Pro Bowler.

The Ravens have 3 skilled position players (Henry, Flowers, Ricard) who are Pro Bowlers or All-Pros.

The Bills have ZERO skilled position players who are Pro Bowlers or All-Pros.

Take the QBs off each respective team... which team has more wins?  Be honest.

That's why Josh is MVP.  And I still think he will.

But I love that Lamar was voted 1st team All-Pro.  Give Josh more fuel.

Right? Seems like everyone is forgetting this. If you had told me before today that the 1st team AP and MVP would be 2 different players, I wouldn't have been surprised.

Yes, it is true that most years the 1st team AP QB wins NFL MVP, but this year the "VALUE" part of the MVP seems to be getting more emphasis than it did in the past, and based on this, we have a situation where Lamar is probably the best fit for 1st team AP, while JA17 best fits the criteria/narrative we have been hearing THIS year for NFL MVP.

This usually doesn't happen.  Most of the time, the 1st team AP usually ends up being the "most valuable" anyway, so we don't have this debate.

This year, we do.  To me, nothing has changed.  Allen should still be viewed as the favorite, unless the criteria for MVP has suddenly changed.

Hypothetical scenario. Let’s transplant Allen and the Bills to Dallas with identical outcomes. Is there any doubt Allen would probably be winning his 2nd consecutive MVP this season? Like it or not, being in a small media market hurts. These awards are voted on by members of the media.

Mahomes is standing in the way of Allen getting Super Bowls

Lamar is standing in the way of Allen getting MVPs

Even though, Allen definitely had the better year last year and I also believe was better this year also

The path Josh has to win MVP is if a bunch of the voters had the inane idea that they wanted to vote Lamar for All Pro but Allen for MVP for some sort of balance not wanting to completely snub Lamar.

Feels like a longshot, but there have been dumber things, I mean Lamar won MVP last year.

You have no idea how different the view would be.

The people here on the radio and in the media in this market, they are a perfect representative of the national media know nothing about the bills.  The only 3 players they know are Allen, Miller and Demar.

The fan here in Dallas spent the week saying Allen cant win in the playoffs.  In the offseason they said he was overrated and for two straight years said the bills would miss the playoffs.

If Josh was the qb here he would pass Mahomes as the face of the league.  The cowboys in the romo years were as famous as the pats dynasty was.  The bump in attention from the media if you play in Dallas is unparalleled

Allen sitting 4th quarters, bad game against NE, and sitting week 18 kills his chances.  Thats almost a couple games missed of time

Tell the voters. Not me. I’m aware

That’s only on Bovada. Everywhere else still has Josh favored. Wouldn’t worry about it.

I think every major place is not currently accepting MVP bets. If they open it back up expect the odds to change dramatically.

I'm still trying to figure out how 49 out of 50 voters placed their vote for Lamar last season when his numbers were so far off from past MVP's that it was laughable. The Ravens were the best defense in the league last season, and that was what drove their record.

They made a mockery of the award last season, so I now no longer have any expectations as to who will get it and what it's based on.

I'm placing a bet on Lamar so at least I can make some money if Josh gets screwed again by these writers

You should have placed that bet yesterday or anytime before now. You would have made way more money. Not as much point now.
