I don’t trust these sports writers to make this decision properly, they awarded Lamar last year when he truly didn’t deserve it and now they will look at his stats and probably give him the award when last year they pretty much ignored the stats.

Josh is the clear favorite but I just don’t trust they will look at what the criteria calls for which is Most VALUABLE player.

There’s just no method to share it idk where this idea is even coming from.

Because its happened 2 other times

1997Brett Favre (Packers) and Barry Sanders (Lions)

2003Peyton Manning (Colts) and Steve McNair (Titans)

Gotta say - Ravens fans online are pathetic.

If Allen had 2 already - and he didn't really show up in the playoffs - I'd be totally happy in that regard, and would just want a SB title.  The fans I see online are so invested, and 100% about the stats.

They sound like a bunch of spoiled brats.

If I’m reading this right, up to last week Lamar had 955 snaps compared to Josh’s 907. Think I’m right in saying this will widen after this week’s games.

I think thats a negative for Lamar honestly…a painful reminder they blew a couple more games than other teams

If Lamar lights up the Browns, and he should considering they just got lit up by Miami without Tua, thats all they will see. They did this when Lamar beat the Giants already this season.

i would be curious to see their snap counts and if there is a big discrepancy.

Lamar has 1007 snaps this season.

Allen after today has 960.

So he has an extra 47 offensive snaps, almost an extra game worth.

Hopefully voters also remember that on January 6, 2024, the Ravens hosted the Steelers in their final regular season game.  Lamar sat out the game as Baltimore was locked into the 1 seed.  If Josh sits out this week he’s earned the right just as Lamar did a year ago.

It's tough because Josh has basically zero statistical case outside of QBR which has been ridiculed here repeatedly. His entire claim this season is narrative based which historically is a good thing to have but perhaps not the most solid argument.

If Harbaugh plays Lamar next week to chase an mvp and he gets hurt, all hell will rain down on the organization. 🤣

Umm, they have not even won the Division yet though?

Qb rating basically only looks at completion %.  Factors zero running stats. It's a terrible indicator of a qb's full contribution. The 5-6 drops today dropped Josh from a 130 to a 105 rating.

He leads the NFL in total EPA and EPA per play. EPA is the definition of "valuable." So he in fact has the strongest statistical case out of all of them. He's of course doing this with the weakest set of weapons compared to any other QB in the conversation.

Remember this:

If Lamar Jackson gets his 3rd NFL League MVP and we still bounce him out of the playoffs...Lamar Jackson cannot live it down for a long time.

Buffalo Bills became their fathers. Just like how we're the fathers to the Miami Dolphins. And how the Chiefs are our fathers.

Burrow is going to destroy the Steelers. And all Huntley would have to do is hand the ball off to Henry 20x.  The Browns and DTR are terrible.  Let him play and you risk an injury.

You been around long enough to know better. I have a hunch the Steelers destroy the Bungholes personally. You have to win the 3 seed to get a playoff game at home. There is zero chance Lamar doesn't play next week as both play at 1pm/

People keep ignoring it, but Lamar has fumbled the ball 10 times.

I wouldn’t say zero statistical case. He has 2 less TDs and one less turnover. Over 16 games they’ve played so far that is basically a wash.

And then if you try to put those numbers into context you’ll notice that Lamar has a HOF RB having one of his best seasons, while the Bills don’t have a 1k yard WR or RB this year.

So statistically basically tied in metrics that matter (scoring and turnovers), but with significantly less help.
