Again, let’s be honest here. Flip the Ravens and Bills records.

Now flip Jackson’s and Allen’s stats.

This place would be heavily triggered from the Lamar MVP hype/talk.

The issue is partially last year. Last year stats didn't matter - they came second to record. Now it seems like stats do matter. I think most just want the voters to be consistent, rather than meddle with their approach to get the result they want.

This tweet seems to sum up Jackson this season.

"If you go 10/15 and win by 29... you probably weren't required to do too much"

Granted there were games where he was asked to do a lot.  I think a handful of those games are the ones he lost.

We don’t need to imagine it. It happened last year. These discussions don’t happen in a vacuum.

Also, the stats aren't that different this year. Jackson has a slight edge, but people are acting like Allen's stats are somehow mediocre. Then you have to factor in the talent level of the players around the qb's.  This adulation for Jackson and downplaying of Allen is highly annoying, and now Bills fans are even spouting it

Didn't watch a second of the game. Did Lamar flip the script and won MVP with this weeks games???

To hear the prevailing narrative, yes. Nevermind that Henry runs for a buck fifty again and Jackson is throwing to guys open by 3 yards

The only thing impressive by that performance was the Ravens D having 4 INTs. Lamar had like one scoring drive that started in Baltimores zone

Lamar threw for 252 with 2 TDs, passer rating of 105.9, rushed for 45.  In a matchup of the top two seeds, he was the top player on the winning team, even though he got a ton of help from his defense.  If the D helps the Bills win this Sunday to land the 2 seed, I think Josh gets the MVP nod over Lamar, in spite of Lamar generally having the better overall stats.

TBH I feel the talent on the respective teams along with team record is the needle mover with MVP.  Everyone knows Lamar plays at MVP level.  Josh had been close proved it this year.  I think he edges Lamar this season but we’ll see.

I doubt it. I think Josh Allen has made his case amongst the voters for MVP. If the Bills beat the NYJ and lock in the #2 overall seed in the AFC , I’d venture that Allen wins the MVP by a solid margin.

Henry was the top player of this game. Lamar did nothing spectacular. Not one amazing throw. He threw too wide open guys because the Texans defense was worried about Henry.

Have you watched Lamar much this year? Yeah his stats are good but his WRs are wide ***** open. Last week against the Steelers he throws a bad pick in the 4th quarter, the next play his D makes a pick 6. In the OT game against Cinci he fumbles in his own territory that led to a Bengals missed FG. They get the ball back and Henry runs them into FG position. Could you imagine if Josh made these mistakes in close games, the turnover narrative would be through the roof. With Lamar media doesn’t even talk about them

There’s been a lot of rumbling in the media about Lamar having his best year ever and the MVP race isn’t over.  The recency bias is real, Allen was all the rage after the Rams/Lions, then laid an egg against the Pats.  Lamar continues to put up great numbers.  If you really watch it, it’s a lot to do with the threat of Henry running you over and Lamar is taking advantage of it, but do the voters care?  That’s the real question.   Hopefully, JA goes and drops a massive game on the Jets and wraps up the 2 seed and MVP all in one game.

Lamar is having an amazing year. That’s what makes me nervous. I really want Allen to win MVP. I need him to win MVP.

Lamar has had a better season than 2023 no question.  But they aren’t giving him a 3rd MVP.

Derrick Henry has an amazing 1,783 yards (5.8 avg).  This might be his best season ever?!  He takes a lot of defensive coordinators attention away from Lamar.  Henry might be in the MVP discussion if Saquon didn’t have a ridiculous season himself with 1,838 yards (5.9 avg).

Oh and by KC smashing Pittsburgh on the road, it makes the Bills win over the Chiefs even more impressive and makes Baltimores win last week vs the Steelers less imo.  So Lamar had a chance to beat top notch teams KC and Philly, and instead they lost to them and the scary Raiders/Browns.

I think in the end, if the Bills O is lackluster this weekend, and Josh is passed over, they will give it to Barkley.

Henry wasn’t on the team last year 🤔.  I was discussing the Ravens/49ers game from last year and how that is what was the deciding factor in Lamar eventually winning MVP.  Lamar played for one of the 1 seeds, and they beat the other 1 seed H2H with Lamar being deemed the biggest reason for Baltimore having as many wins.  This was without the best stats in the league, but good enough.  By same logic, if the team can just wrap up the 2 seed this Sunday, I think Josh has the best MVP case in the league this year.  It tightened up in the past couple of games, but I think enough voters will still see it similarly.

The national media discussion around MVP shows how much the talking heads are little more than lemmings. It's all what have you done for me lately and counting stats. In less than two weeks, the consensus went from drooling all over Allen to presuming Lamar should be the favorite. In many cases, analysts are talking trash about Allen as though it's an insult to Lamar that Josh has been hyped at all.

The race has been between Josh and Lamar for much of the season, little has changed though I think team context and game circumstances favor Josh whereas counting stats favor Lamar, but not by a huge margin. My favorite part is so many boasting about Lamar's QB rating, which has been proven to not be an effective measure of QB play.

It's to a point where if Josh wins, many in the media will claim it's akin to stolen valor.

I'd have less issues in Jackson winning it this year than last year. Last year was farcical and most of my annoyance is with that. It feels like Josh is owed one.

This is it right here, LJ was unworthy this year, but Josh, LJ, Goff, Burrows all are having insanely good years

Josh is currently -280 to win MVP. Win tomorrow and he locks it up even with average game as team won't play starters final week.

Lose and play poorly then door is open for either Lamar or Barkley to steal it in the final week.

However, I have hard time seeing Josh losing this and can't see voters giving Lamar 3rd MVP after last season. If he didn't win it last year then totally different story.

No chance Lamar wins. Just too much Lamar MVP fatigue. The voters will want to give it to someone else, and Allen (and even Goff) have solid cases.

I feel like this case can be made of every game this year yet Lamar gets the glory
