At least on Get Up this AM Josh didn't take a hit for yesterday.

Rex vocal support for Josh still MVP.  In separate segment "Can anyone crack MVP race in final weeks" it was unanimous it was still Josh - Rex pointing out that Lamar has Henry, Woody pointing out loss of Diggs/Davis Bills were supposed to be worse, Orlovsky also said it was over and pointed out that if KC wins this week the Bills have nothing to play for and  might rest people and not show as much on offense (didn't apply it to yesterday though).

I was actually shocked for the segment they all said Josh had it - typically for 'good television' these shows make sure to have some dissenting opinions to have some argument and back-forth between the 'panel'.  This was just one show - I'm sure there will be a lot of panelists on other shows screaming it's Lamar's now

Thing is, even in the Ravens win on Sat, Derrick Henry had the bigger night.  And Marlon Humphrey bailed Lamar out for that red zone INT.  So in a week where Josh was off, I don’t think Lamar even made up that much ground.  And like the panelists are saying, if the Bills can rest players at some point bc their seeding is locked in, the chase is pretty much done then IMO, bc Josh has finished his test early with great marks, while Lamar would still be trying to finish his.

It probably won’t…at 14-3 josh will get it but idk if he’ll start week 18

I don’t think the record against playoff teams means diddly when the bills are 2 of Detroit/kcs three losses.  If we lost to Detroit maybe that point factors in

Ok.

But... pretty hard to argue that the Bills haven't had a softer schedule than the Ravens.

Soft schedule argument goes out the window when you lose to the raiders and browns....

Just tally up the records of opponents. It's not close

Everybody will fawn over Lamar having 40+ TDs.   Hasn't Allen done that 4 straight years or five?    Some in the social media world have moved off Allen due to recency bias.  RG3 is one of them.

Lamar Jackson 2024 stats so far.

3,787 yards passing with 37 TDs and 4 INTs. This doesn't count his rushing stats. Jackson absolutely belongs in the MVP race. As I mentioned I hope Josh wins but the case can be made for LJ.

No he doesn't. And it's wrong what is going on...

Nobody has won a 2nd MVP until they won a championship

Nobody has won MVP not being top ten in passing yds or passing tds

Again there is no world where Lamar has 3 MVPs and Allen has zero in the timeframe of Jan 2020 to now, Allen has almost 100 more tds than Lamar in the regular season and playoffs, beat Lamar in the playoffs, and has more playoff tds than Lamar burrow Herbert and Lawrence COMBINED....

Allen has the second most tds in NFL playoff history for a QB in his first ten playoff games.

Lamar in 6 playoff games has a passer rating of 75, 6 passing touchdowns and 6 int.

Allen vs the face of the league since 21 is 4-2 vs mahomes

Lamar is 1-4 in his career vs mahomes.

I'll repeat that if Allen doesn't get the MVP, it's obviously a point of emphasis to not give him the award ever, and it would be cruel to not give him the award. It would be intentionally cruel

The MVP race came into focus when Allen played KC and up to the lions.

That’s not really what im arguing but if we want to talk that I believe the bills literally have had a stronger strength of schedule so far this year 😂 tough to find the info for games already played though.  I was looking at the espn fpi sos

I was saying two primetime AFC championship/ Super Bowl preview type wins down the stretch against teams that hardly ever lose matters so so so much more than two early in the year losses against playoff teams that no voter is even going to consider what you’re saying

Shakir catches those two big ones that were right there in his hands and we wouldn't even be talking or worrying about MVP right now. That end zone catch would be highlight of the weekend.

Yeah it was a very strange day for Shakir.  Usually he's automatic. He just seemed off all day.

Yeah. Bad day But he's a beast. I've got no worries about him because you're right he's been automatic.

He's never been a very good downfield WR. Both of his drops were downfield. We have to accept who he is and use him accordingly. The margin for error on downfield throws is just way too low for his body type and skill set.

Acho, one of the voters, still has Josh in the lead (just after the 12 minute mark).  Sounds to me so long as Bills take care of business for the 2 seed, Josh will get the nod in his book, even though Lamar has put up crazy stats as well.

DeMeco Ryan’s said today that Lamar Jackson is the mvp and the best player he has watched on tape this year.

this is the second time Ryan’s has thrown some backhanded comments at Allen.  After playing Buffalo in October Ryan’s made a point to say that they were getting ready to play the best quarterback they have had to play this year, Jordan love.

i wonder what his issue is with Allen.  Maybe Allen said something to him at some point.  Either way it’s pretty funny.

Beat me to it. Was just about to post this. Acho is only one vote but most probably feel the same. Josh has a better record and is doing it with less and their stats arent that far apart. That and Lamar has already won 2. He just needs to win the Jets game and he will probably win it.

Also I wanted to comment on the people that always come in these threads and say "I dont care about MVP, I care about a SuperBowl." Well Josh may say he don't care about it to and SB is his #1 goal... but it's part of his legacy. It's important. Maybe not to you but it will be for him.

Unless Allen has 5 int and / or loses the game the MVP race is over.

I hope you’re right.

I don’t know what more he needs to do / can do if he doesn’t win it this year.

The ball went through his hands, there was no issue, he just missed.  Bad day for him.
