Not surprising.  I think many see Mahomes - Allen as the new Brady - Manning.  It's a rivalry between the two best QBs in the NFL, and America loves rivalries.

Everyone expecting a Bills Chiefs amazing playoff game. It happens almost every year. Imagine the Bills get the one seed and then someone knocks KC out in the divisional?

They should put them in costumes with fake over-the-board personalities and off-the-wall names.  America loves rivalries.

My man you are living in a different world.

242 career touchdowns at age 28. Most viewed non-holiday game in 20 years.

If I’m living in a different world, then I’m living in the right one.

By the time the snf game rolls around, unless it’s an intriguing matchup or my team is playing, I kind of check out. I start watching football at noon in Saturday and it rolls all day and night into Sunday so by then I’m done. The 4:25 window is prime.

There are too many night games now and I get up too early in the AM to watch them all.  Thursday is usually the loser, but I agree by SNF unless it's a good game (as in competitive and interesting) I'm nodding off.

I think everyone likes him, but the narratives on him have been so bad the last 7 years that they’re hesitant to openly say he’s awesome.

A Super Bowl win would be enough for people to admit it.

How would you talk about mahomes if he led the league in turnovers over the last bunch of years?

I mean I also think that was a great football game.

Remember when that wild Chiefs - Rams game was being lauded as the best game ever... was it 54-51... ? I said man that is not my idea of a great football game.

The best games are those 30-21 or 34-27 type games. When every drive feels like it ends in a touchdown... meh.  Not enough jeopardy. That Sunday was a true battle between offense and defense, a fascinating strategy battle between two excellent coaching staffs and two all world QBs who were prevented from playing perfect but who each made 4 or 5 incredible plays over the course of the game. It had jeopardy, drama, lead changes and some great football plays.

Maybe I only feel this way because we won - but actually I was saying it in the GDT at half time - that was my favourite Bills - Chiefs game of the rivalry. I loved it.

It'll be interesting on Thanksgiving moving forward if they ever say screw it the Lions and Cowboys aren't guaranteed to play home games on that day and can get flexed out.  Nobody wants to watch Tommy Devito vs. Cooper Rush while eating turkey.  Not even their families.

They should do this game in London.

Just want to see how many thumbs down I get.

Well, I wouldn't object, so I don't what the problem would be...

It’s funny. Nobody gives Allen his due, his true due, yet everyone secretly likes to watch him play.

I wonder if Allen wins a SB that his national fanbase will become way larger than typical.

Well, Mahomes is playing a part, as much as it pains me to say it. The three highest regular season games so far this year all involve him rather than Josh (Chiefs against Bengals, Ravens and Bills).

"The Buffalo Bills' 30-21 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11 brought in record-breaking TV viewership during the CBS National window.

According to Sports Business Journal's Austin Karp, an average of 31.2 million viewers tuned in to see Buffalo's home win which snapped Kansas City's unbeaten record and improved the Bills to 9-2 for the first time since 1992.

Not only is Bills-Chiefs the most-watched game of the 2024 NFL season so far, it is also the most-watched regular season NFL game, excluding Thanksgiving & Christmas, since the Patriots-Colts game Week 9 in 2007 (33.8 million).

That matchup featured the 8-0 Patriots, led by Tom Brady, going against Peyton Manning and the 7-0 Colts.

Additionally, Bills-Chiefs is 4th most-watched National window on record (dating back to 1988) and ranks among the 10 most-watched NFL games on record in any window, excluding Thanksgiving."

That's mostly because all 3 games were close and the ratings numbers are average numbers. If a game is a blowout the numbers drop out very quickly, affecting the average rating.

The Bills games against the Dolphins and Ravens were blowouts or they would also have gotten huge numbers.

I mean it is why CBS buys it every year, even though that's also why it's weirdly not a Sunday Night or Monday Night Football game.

Selfishly, I love the 4:25 stand alone games for CBS, as I’m up at 5 am at the latest on weekdays.  It’s just reminiscent of the hype for Brady/Manning games.

It will be nice for a week off as it gives guys time to heal, amd I can relaxingly like many of you just leisurely watch a football Sunday.

it won’t happen. It’s been brought up many times over the years. Dallas and Detroit agreed to host back when no one wanted it, and are vehemently opposed to ever giving it up.

Honestly, you know what you're going to get with a Mahomo/Allen rivalry, which is why i think people tune in for this one.

You know it's going to be a close game, tight action, some INT's, good plays, bad plays, end to end action and both QB's lobbing the occasional bomb........like really, what's not to like?

Most people tune in with the expectation of, "what's going to happen next?!?" and they aren't wrong.

They certainly aren't tuning in to listen to Romo, i can tell you that.

Funny.  I remember watching that Pats/Colts game in the East Village and was remarking before the game this weekend that this Bills/Chiefs rivalry has become the same sort of must-see TV.

The parallels between KC/BUF and NE/IND are pretty striking.  If you’re a fan of NFL football you never want(ed) to miss either one.
