Great move by the Jets and luckily they have a great GM option in house as soon as Rodgers decides to hang them up. Great satire here… Quote
Gregg Posted Tuesday at 05:53 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:53 PM Albert Breer on X: "The Jets have fired GM Joe Douglas, as @Connor_J_Hughes reported. Those in his department were informed over the last hour. Messy situation gets messier. Was told co-director of player personnel Greg Nejmeh had taken on a more prominent role recently. Messy, messy situation." / X Quote
Bruffalo Posted Tuesday at 05:54 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:54 PM (edited) Why do we always got to consolidate power around personalities like Rodgers? The Jets have 1 problem. It's Aaron and the joke of an OC he brought with him to the Jets. He's had a FU attitude to everyone in that organization and he's rewarded for it. Absolutely insane. thenorthremembers Posted Tuesday at 05:57 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:57 PM 6 weeks ago the owner said they had put together one of the most talented rosters in Jet's history. I guess he finally came to his senses. Douglas should have been fired after the 2022 season when it was obvious he screwed up the Quarterback pick. Whoever takes over at GM needs to get rid of Rodgers as soon as possible. Otherwise they wont last long either. Quote

ColoradoBills Posted Tuesday at 06:00 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:00 PM Douglas couldn't develop Sam Darnold, drafted Zach Wilson and traded for Aaron Rodgers. Jets organization is a mess, but would anyone trust him to pick the next QB? 2 Quote

gonzo1105 Posted Tuesday at 06:09 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:09 PM Savage used to run the Senior Bowl so I wonder if they are picking his brain on prospects since boards aren’t set yet. Rodgers will either retire, be released, or be a short term stop gap. If option 3 is presented I suspect Rodgers walks away. Adams was the last gasp for Douglas and it’s still not happening. One thing that isn’t talked about is our front office. I’d expect Terrance Gray to get some more interviews and possibly land an NFL GM gig here this off-season 1 Quote

May Day 10 Posted Tuesday at 06:13 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:13 PM They were on the right track. Douglas failed to build an o-line, and zac wilson was a huge miss, but the jets were well positioned in many areas with young talent. Had good assets, cap situation, and a HC that the players seemed to show up for. Whoever decided to steer left and stake the fanchise into that galaxy brained qb and his whims is at fault. If they played everything smart, and ended up with Mayfield or cousins or something things would be much different. 2 Quote
co_springs_billsfan Posted Tuesday at 06:17 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:17 PM I'm looking forward to the January press conference when the new GM is introduced and claims "I'm a real GM!" Extra points if Rodgers goes on the Pat McAfee Show and actually says "Welcome Pinocchio" 1 Quote

buffblue Posted Tuesday at 06:29 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:29 PM Douglas gets far too much leniency from a lot of folks for a guy who owns a 30-64 record as GM. If anything, he should've been the first to go, not Saleh. He drafted Zach Wilson and butchered the quarterback room. He largely ignored the offensive line and then tried to make up for it this offseason by signing dinosaurs like Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses. He's frivolously wasted draft capital. And he's built his defense into a collection of individual, me first talent that turn into complete pussies when they get punched in the mouth. 3 Quote
