lol stopgap? Like who?

Purdy is 6th in passing yards, 6th in QBR, has as many TDs as Herbert, more than Daniel’s/Hurts/Geno/Stroud/Murray.  Tell us who you would bring in who is already better than that?

McCaffrey has played 2 games, Deebo, Kittles and Aiyuk have all missed games.  Their Defense is mediocre.

Purdy is hardly their problem.

Wow, I didn't realize his stats were that good.. I don't watch a lot of their games, but the glimpses I have seen on Red Zone he looked bad.

I stand corrected then! Hopefully they win this week vs GB, because everything about the Packers annoys me, starting with their egomaniac head coach who has accomplished exactly zero other than making sure McVay's coffee was warm in LA.

The GB egomaniac is now in NJ.  Lafleur had to put up with Rodgers's nonsense for a while.  Now he they really haven't missed a beat with the QB draft pick that everyone dragged the Packers over.  GB got better as soon as Rodgers left. Few assumed that would be true.

McVay and Les Snead went all in for that one ring 3 years ago.  They've 20 games since. And McVay traded away a guy on a rookie contract who could be MVP on a team that went from 3-13 to 30 wins since the Rams won a SB.  McVay isn't that genius...

And he threw 4 TDs and had a near-perfect passer rating.

Anyone who's watched Stafford play knows that he has plenty of football left in him.

did you watch him the week before vs. Miami?  The Raiders?  Packers? Cards?  Bears?...........

The only game I watched in its entirety was the season opener against Detroit. I've watched bits and pieces of his other games.

The games I've watched his arm is as good as ever but he's been getting rid of the ball quickly. Also both of his starting wideouts Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua have missed half the season. Take any QBs two best receivers away from him and see what happens.

Under the circumstances I think Stafford's played really well.

Rams were 0-2 before Kupp went out.  They scored a total of 30 points.  Stafford+Kupp=3-3.

For reference, 3 years ago, the Rams won the SB without a Nacua on the roster.  Just Kupp and a funeral home waiting room of Woods, OBJ and Desean Jackson.

Josh has won games without Coleman, Kincaid, Cooper.  Mahomes wins without Rice.  Stroud without Diggs and Collins....

Maybe he is getting the ball off quickly.  He's just not getting it into the end zone.  4 of his meager 13 TDs came in his last game against an awful team.

Stafford is 7th in the league in passing so I don't think that your characterization that "Stafford is on his last legs" is accurate.

That said, I know you're never wrong so let's just agree to disagree.

Their Defense is mediocre.

The 49ers have Fred Warner, which pretty much takes them out of the mediocre category.  The Big unknown is Bosa's health. They are ranked 6th in total defense giving up 302 yards per game.  Renardo Green is a rookie but already showing as a top 10 cornerback.

I HATE The Athletic!

They're charging me $10 a month for over a year, despite not having a subscription with them!

I've logged in to every email I've ever used, and they all say I don't have a subscription. Yet once a month, there's that damn Athletic charge! Conveniently, you can't call them, and if you email them to complain, they just give you an automated response about "no refunds."

I don't want a refund, I want you to stop billing me! 🤬

So what? Rodgers is 11th--is he the 11th best QB in the league?  lol, no.

Is Stafford better than Josh, Goff and Mahomes?--they are all behind him in "passing".

I'm wrong not infrequently, but this nonsense doesn't counter any of the points made above.  With him at the  helm, they have won 20 games the pas 3 years.  they are 5-5 in a division that has 1 team 1 game over .500

I can be persuaded by a cogent argument....

yards given up are meaningless, it's points. they are 16th.

Cowboys have Micah Hyde and their Defense is second worst in the league.  One guy doesn't matter.  Bosa has played each game.  Still 16th in points allowed.

Sorry for the cheap shot... I just don't agree that he's on his last legs.

We shall see.

I was looking forward to Noam Chomksy's power rankings.

1. Cuba

• Chomsky has acknowledged Cuba’s healthcare and education systems, particularly their focus on universal access and high standards, as successes.

• He has also praised Cuba’s solidarity in sending medical aid to other countries during crises.

2. Scandinavia (Nordic countries)

• Chomsky has often cited Scandinavian countries (e.g., Norway, Sweden, Denmark) for their strong social welfare systems, emphasis on equality, and successful implementation of progressive policies.

• He sees these nations as examples of functional social democracies with a focus on public welfare.

3. Costa Rica

• He has highlighted Costa Rica for abolishing its military in 1948 and redirecting those resources toward education and healthcare.

• Chomsky sees this as a rare example of a peaceful and forward-thinking policy decision.

4. Bolivia (under Evo Morales)

• Chomsky expressed support for Bolivia’s efforts to empower indigenous populations and redistribute wealth under Evo Morales.

• He saw this as an example of addressing historic inequalities and prioritizing social justice.

5. Vietnam

• He has praised Vietnam for its resilience and determination during the Vietnam War, resisting overwhelming U.S. military force.

• Post-war, Chomsky has mentioned Vietnam’s strides in economic recovery despite immense devastation.
