With the win over the Chiefs, the Bills are solidly in contention for the #1 seed, and when you look at the remaining schedule the Bills would appear to have the advantage, at least on paper.

And we get a week to rest up before we make our final run  of 6 games whereas  the Chiefs have to play 7 games.

The Bills have really one tough game remaining, at Detroit, whereas the Chiefs finish the season on the road at Pittsburgh and Denver.

Chiefs:                               Bills:

@ Carolina                          vs San Fran

vs Vegas.                             @ Rams

vs Chargers.                         @ Lions

@ Cleve.                               vs NE

vs Houston.                           vs Jets

@Pitt.                                     @ NE

@Denver

I count five tough games for the Chiefs...the game at Cleveland will be no joke, despite their record.  And Denver will probably fighting for a playoff spot (and to avenge their earlier loss on the blocked FG) in the last game.  Even Vegas, who are terrible, have always played the Chiefs tough.

while this is not the original topic it's worth adding:

Steelers : 8-2

@Browns

@Bengals

Browns

@Eagles

@Ravens

Chiefs

Bengals

Ravens 7-4

@Chargers

Eagles

Bye

@Giants

Steelers

@Texans

Browns

Texans : 7-4

Titans

@Jaguars

Dolphins

@Chiefs

Ravens

@Titans

Steelers will drop at least one to their divisional, the Eagles tend to collapse, the Swifts game will be a big test - they may drop as many as 3 of the remaining ames

Ravens should not lose more than one game - Eagles, Steelers, Texans. But could lose in the division and are not playing good football right now.

Texans are going to get healthier and stand a chance to win the next few going into KC with a 3 game streak at 10-4. They will lose to the Ravens or the Chiefs.

Chiefs in general play close games as a rule even against bad teams...Bills do not usually.

That could cost them.

I see the Bills losing to the Lions. All the other games are very winnable. SF isn't as good as people thought they would be. I know they have injuries but so does every team.

As for the Chiefs they will be challenged by the Chargers. Harbaugh has got them playing well. At Pittsburgh and Denver won't be easy. Even the Texans game at home is no gimme either.

Chiefs will beat Panthers and Raiders to get to 11-1.

They'll get all they can handle and then some vs the Chargers. They'll likely beat the Browns.

at Steelers, at Broncos, vs Texans seems like 2-1 at best.

Niners are favored to win, too

Over the Bills in OP. That is hard to believe.

Yea, no way 49ers will be favored over us in OP.

If we can beat the 49ers, we’ll be at 10-2, and the Chiefs will likely be 11-1 by then.  BUT, I agree their closing stretch of games should be much tougher than ours.  We might even have wiggle room to lose one (ie Lions, although would love to beat them too), and still catch the Chiefs.  In terms of the 1 seed, I’m thinking it will take 14 wins though, given where the Chiefs, Bills and even Steelers all sit today.

That sounds like some kind of offseason futures bet for this game and not what the actual odds will be..  I don’t think the niners will be the favorite when the odds go up a week in advance.  And if somehow that is legit that’s the worst line of the year 🤣

I did some googling and I think I found what you’re talkin about and those odds say last updated 8/29

If the bills beat the niners which I fully expect after a bye at home, I think the chiefs are gonna start to feel very uncomfy

Also, SF will be playing back-to-back road games when they come to Buffalo in 2 weeks. This week they are at GB.

Bills are going to run the table.

there is no way they are losing to Detroit. Once McD schemes up against the lions, the entire league will have the blueprint on the Lions too. I would be dreading that game if I were the Lions.

Yea I was gonna say this lions hype is out of control.  Barring any major injuries I think the bills defense has the guys now to make Jared Goff look similar to what the Texans did to him. Lions are always gonna be a qb away imo.  Someone in their playoff run is gonna be able to turn back the clock on Goff and make him look like late stage rams Goff

Think about this - If the Bills win the next 3, they will be at 9, which is their second longest regular season winning streak EVER (had 11 in 1963-1964).  I think we could lose to any of those teams if we don’t play well.  Would love to get to that Lions game at 11-2 though, with a chance to knock off the league’s newest favorite in their own building.

I think it’s possible the Bills lose one more, the Chiefs lose two more and the Steelers lose two more. That would give us the first seed. We have the easiest schedule of the three by far IMO.

The bills had a weird scheduling anomaly where two of their three tough road games came back to back early in the season and nearly all their road divisional games were early.  I don’t think the length of the hypothetical win streak on paper makes it any less likely to come true in this case because of that.  The schedule was kind of set up for a long win streak assuming we beat the chiefs

usually teams have that kind of stuff more spread out so a long win streak is tougher
