It’s not marginal, Aubrey is arguably the top kicker in the game. He has  a strong and incredibly accurate leg.

Kickers have huge impacts on games good or bad. McPherson makes a kick they win. Tucker doesn’t miss twice they win

i also said if all things Bass were out of the way like he was a Free Agent or had no dead cap so I’m not advocating for us trading for Aubrey and releasing Bass just saying if everything was aligned right in the world

He's got a 2% better FG rate this season. It's the definition of marginal, unless you expect the Bills to be stopped consistently and need 50+ yard field goals. That's only happened twice all season, and Bass hit both.

Not saying Dallas would be interested but they sure as heck need draft capital. What would you be willing to give up for a kicker who makes 60 yard field goals like extra points?  I’d give up a fourth in a heartbeat. If we had a third, I’d give up a third. What say you?

Did you try to look up the actual stats or are you spouting off based on gut-feel?

Outdoors splits on PAT this season

Bass 28/32

Aubrey 10/10

What this screams to me is that the Dallas offense sucks.

So you have to consider points greater than what we have, which is Bass.  Hes left a total of 13 points on the field this year (little known fact, if he hits his next 2 FGs its his best kicking % of his career).  Please let me know if theres any situation you think McD would have kicked instead of punted (cause that would add to the total).  So thats 1 point per game that bass has left on the field versus a perfect kicker.  I think Ray Davis's 428 yards have resulted in 13 points (see the Jets game) over replacement, so I def think a 4th round pick at a position offers greater return.  You can start convincing me maybe in the 5th, but really the 6th.  And again this is against a perfect kicker.

This is some shockingly illuminating analysis!  great way to look at it.

you do have to add in the extra points (and bad field position if he misses) from trying kicks you never would have with bass, from say the 50 or something, but if you add 6 more points (say you only attempt them at the end of halves and games where you don't lose the field position) you are still in the 3rd at best range of value, and that's not taking the contract impact into account.

Fair enough but I don’t think guys like Aubrey just fall off trees.  If you get the ball on the 30, you’re two first downs from FG range.  Phenomenal weapon.

But not necessarily true if he kicked in the wind and cold of Buffalo.

What are his stats outside versus in a 'dome'?

How about in games under 40 degrees?

I looked quickly online but didn't come up with those important stats.

Just go back to the KC game.  If you had 100% confidence your kicker would drill a 51 yarder to go up 16 - 7, would you have gone for it on 4th and 3 from the 34?  Maybe, maybe not but it feels like a lack of confidence in Bass is pushing that decision, especially after he missed the PAT.

He's very good but at the end of the day he still a dome kicker

You literally can't take what he does and then dome and then think it will be the same and windy ass orchard Park

His percentage is definitely changing

I have no feelings one way or the other on the topic at hand.

I just couldn't help but notice that it was kinda funny that the kicker topic was created by a guy named St Pete Gogolak.

The 61 yard walk off was nice but Tyler is still in his own head. Sean definitely is leary of using him. He had 2 opportunities in the KC game to kick longer fgs. Maybe it was McD's current policy to go for tds instead of fgs against the Chiefs.  And I 100% agree with that policy. But it still sends a message to Bass that he's not yet there?
