I think the Bills, with their full complement of offensive players, would drop 30 on them too

Definitely could, the Chiefs D is probably a good comp with the Steelers D.  When Josh is playing well, it’s hard for really any defense to slow him down.  He offers so many ways to score against other teams.

McDermott, Babich, and Brady outcoached Reid, Spagnulo, and Nagy on Sunday.   The defense held Mahomes to 198 yards passing plus they intercepted him twice, sacked him twice I think but pressured him a lot more.  They did that by maintaining their rush lanes and keeping Mahomes in the pocket.  The offense couldn't run a lot between the twenties, but Cook ran for 2 TDs in goal to go situations.  Receivers didn't drop many passes, and Cooper's two were both slick.  I'll take it, especially against the Chiefs.

Well put...I think the team was incredibly focused. Other than Knox's weird route (int) and Bass's missed xp, it was a flawless game. I would like to see a few less 1 yard runs on 1st down. Everyone did their job and executed.

I’m not sure there’s a whole lot that’s different about the overall product though.

Not much of what Brady was doing was actually working, it was still a lot of Josh wearing the cape on 3rd and 4th down. Those are not high percentage plays, he’s just an animal but it makes it all so much harder. The ask from him is much more than the ask of the Chiefs from Mahomes.

And we knew if we kicked the FG and made them score a TD…they would have. Same if we didn’t convert and they just needed a FG. McD knows his side of the ball can’t get it done when it matters most, especially against that team.

I’m still optimistic because I think #17 can win us that game in January. But I think it’s the same story as all the other seasons in the playoffs under this regime…he’s going to have to be Superman for us to do it.

Team uses best player to win games. More at 11

Fully Allens team.  I think the team is benefiting from a singular voice.  The offensive line and running game has added a toughness to the team.  When they wanted or needed to the defense stops the run pretty consistently.

Out of the bye getting Coleman, Brown and Kincaid back are big for the offense.  Seeing Milano next to Benard at linebacker imo makes the defense a tick more dynamic. Sprinkle in Smoot and Carter during the stretch run and Buffalo has productive depth on both sides of the ball in almost every position group.

Overall, more balanced team.  More balanced units.  Everyone knows Allens passing attack and McDermott's zone coverages. Now they have a real run game and the line is keeping Allen clean.  The defensive line is being disruptive to match coverage.  Milano playing with Benard could really make this the best Mcdermott defense.  Pick a weakness on the team?  Edwards and Hamlin?  Id argue both are playing above NFL average.

In previous years, the Bills lacked a good short yardage running game that could enable them to move the sticks on 3rd or 4th and 1 or score a TD from the 3 yard line.  Allen was the only player who was consistently successful running in short yardage situations.  Now, the Bills have 3 RBs who can pick up that 2 yards on third down or score a TD from the 5.  That's priceless in the playoffs when all the teams are solid in all phases.

Those 2 goal to go TD runs are things Buffalo hasn't had in its bag.  Im more impressed with that than if Cook ran for 100 yards.  Without Coleman and Kincaid KC felt confident outside and sold out to stop the run.  That plan didnt work.  Adding a healthier Cooper with a returning Coleman and Kincaid makes that plan even harder to do.  Buffalo is forcing teams to stop the run schematically.  That opens up the passing attack.  Allen and the Bills putting 30 on the best defense down Allens #1 and #3 targets is crazy.

I’m trying to figure out why this team imploded against the Texans and ravens, who now have worse records than us

Derrick Henry has been our Achilles for years. We don't have a solid middle to the run game (LBs too small)

I don't think our run defense is a vulnerability. Aren't we like 4th in run defense dvoa?

Against the best interior oline in the NFL, if you subtract one 17 yard hunt run, ( when we were up 9 in the 4th)

The KC rbs avg 3.1 ypc.

They were down two players that game, though

A bunch of injuries.  No Johnson Rapp or Shakir vs Houston.  No Benard or Johnson vs Baltimore. Crucial positions in the match ups were banged up.  Didnt impact other games but did those.
