JerseyBills Posted Tuesday at 09:09 AM Posted Tuesday at 09:09 AM Idk what it is but there's truly something special with this group. I guess cutting all the dead weight, especially at WR has proven to pay massive dividends, not only in play but in the locker room. 17 just looks and feels like he's rejuvenated, guys are having fun, we suddenly have an influx of youth. This will be the first of many SBs. Here is Coop, who is a quiet, reserved guy , think he truly talks from the heart on playing with this group. Something special is brewing, enjoy the ride, can't wait to go to my 2nd bills game ever 12/27. Still hyped over the big dub 3 1 7 1 Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted Tuesday at 09:31 AM Posted Tuesday at 09:31 AM It's a great team and I think when they beat Detroit in convincing fashion the media will start to concede how great they are. But I'm going to enjoy destroying KC in the AFC championship in Buffalo. That's going to be special. I'm going to buffalo 🦬 to celebrate in the parade They're going to destroy everyone in the playoffs. You guys will see Go Bills! 3 1 Quote

HomeskillitMoorman Posted Tuesday at 11:15 AM Posted Tuesday at 11:15 AM I’m not sure there’s a whole lot that’s different about the overall product though. Not much of what Brady was doing was actually working, it was still a lot of Josh wearing the cape on 3rd and 4th down. Those are not high percentage plays, he’s just an animal but it makes it all so much harder. The ask from him is much more than the ask of the Chiefs from Mahomes. And we knew if we kicked the FG and made them score a TD…they would have. Same if we didn’t convert and they just needed a FG. McD knows his side of the ball can’t get it done when it matters most, especially against that team. I’m still optimistic because I think #17 can win us that game in January. But I think it’s the same story as all the other seasons in the playoffs under this regime…he’s going to have to be Superman for us to do it. 2 3 1 Quote

That's pretty good considering that KC defense hasn't allowed 28 plus in 30! games.... KC had won 15 straight and we pretty much controlled that game. We had a couple opportunities to open up the lead too. I think that means something. I see a great team in Buffalo that has had some bad luck in the past. The only time I've ever felt KC was better and I actually had a healthy fear of them was 2020. They were clearly better than us in the AFC championship and that difference in play flipped in 2021. Like I said we've just had some bad luck 2 Quote
Bills!Win! Posted Tuesday at 11:38 AM Posted Tuesday at 11:38 AM I’m trying to figure out why this team imploded against the Texans and ravens, who now have worse records than us Quote

The ravens game I thought should have been a lot closer but they had to change the game plan when they got behind and things got away from them. Texans was a bit more puzzling but it was still earlier in the season when teams are figuring out who they are. As poorly as we played that game it could have easily been a win 1 Quote

( The entire wr core was basically compromised) Add in early season variance and it happens. If we play Baltimore in the playoffs I think we would blow them out if we are fully healthy Oliver is just now getting healthy btw. You can tell. Same with Daquan Jones. I saw him manhandle Humphrey a few times All time great teams have a couple bad games sometimes. I remember in 91 buffalo hot destroyed by KC 33-6. It was bad. The great Derrick Thomas wrecking the game and Thurman couldn't do anything We then beat KC that year in the playoffs 38-14 I believe. Edited Tuesday at 11:55 AM by Kelly to Allen 5 1 Quote

Considering all the injuries we had, Allen playing bad and on the road. We still almost beat the Texans, a solid playoff team. It's actually a good sign 6 Quote

The Texans would definitely be a win. The Ravens game if that happens will need to start fast. We can’t take the methodical approach where we feel out the opponents in the first half. We go up by two TD’s and that plays into our hands as the Ravens can’t rip us apart on the ground, and I’ll take Josh over Lamar six days a week and twice on Sunday. 1 Quote

I don't think our run defense is a vulnerability. Aren't we like 4th in run defense dvoa? Against the best interior oline in the NFL, if you subtract one 17 yard hunt run, ( when we were up 9 in the 4th) The KC rbs avg 3.1 ypc. 1 Quote

Like I said we've just had some bad luck 2021 wasn’t bad luck, it was bad coaching and yes, again demanding for 17 to be Superman. Coaching led by McD has been a massive liability for us, especially in January. I’m not sure much of that part has changed. I think our roster is better than last year overall and hope that’s enough to win in spite of our deficiencies on the sidelines, but again we saw the same thing we’re up against - plays that generally don’t work that Allen has to go off script and especially make great plays on 3rd and longs. He got it done but that’s why it’s so hard for us to win in January. That combined with McD’s D that never comes up big in those games…which he even knew going into that 4th and 2 that they wouldn’t have gotten that stop…and I think it’s the same script that we’re hoping for with a different ending from which is possible with Josh. But I’m not seeing what’s noticeably different…dude still has to wear the cape. 2 1 1 Quote

The defense held Mahomes to 198 yards passing plus they intercepted him twice, sacked him twice I think but pressured him a lot more. They did that by maintaining their rush lanes and keeping Mahomes in the pocket. The offense couldn't run a lot between the twenties, but Cook ran for 2 TDs in goal to go situations. Receivers didn't drop many passes, and Cooper's two were both slick. I'll take it, especially against the Chiefs. 3 1 1 Quote

We always talk about the Bills and can they get by the Chiefs and Ravens in the playoffs. What do you make of the Steelers? They seem to give LJ and the Ravens trouble. Their defense is top notch and if Wilson can start looking like the QB from his Seahawks days, then the Steelers will be trouble for anyone. 2 Quote

Yea if you don't think the Bills outcoached the Chiefs on Sunday you don't know what you're watching. Honestly the game probably shouldn't have been as close as it was but for one or two execution missteps. I accept the Bills staff have yet to show they can outcoach the Chiefs when it is all on the line in January. But the Bills coaching, 13 seconds apart, is not the main reason we haven't hoisted a Lombardi. And remember the Chiefs didn't make the Superbowl after 13 seconds. People talk as though win that game and it was a given. We'd still have had to beat Cincy. 3 2 1 Quote

He kept running the ball which, while not terribly successful, kept their D honest and helped set up successful paly action. He called plays that took advantage of the middle of the field where the Chiefs D was weak and got Samuel involved. Josh is a superman yes, but you can't deny the success the offense has had with Brady as OC. 4 Quote

Josh played his worst half of the year in that first half, by far; 2. A rookie DB who missed camp making his first start was "got" for two touchdowns one through the air and one on the ground; and 3. Strange playcalling at the end. Against Baltimore more complicated but: 1. When Dorian Williams is the "senior" player at your second level you are struggling against a team like them and they went after our linebackers and nickel relentlessly with their gameplan; 2. I thought Babich made a really bad adjustment after the first drive to go bigger and play 4-3 base and they killed us with Justice Hill the rest of the first half; 3. They exploited our lack of outside receiver talent at that point by stacking the middle of the field and taking Shakir and Kincaid away. The two plays we made Sunday to Cooper make such a difference in that game. If we can just make a couple of those each big game it stops teams using the Ravens blueprint of "give the Bills the deep outside 'cos they can't beat you there." 1 hour ago, oldmanfan said: Disagree. Sure, the amazing play at the end and the play to Cooper with a guy in his grill. There were a couple of others too I'm sure that aren't springing to mind, but there were also plays to Hollins and Knox and Shakir and Samuel in big spots that were just well schemed up, good plays that Josh made the throw and his receiver made the catch.
