Kelly to Allen Posted Wednesday at 08:36 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:36 PM (edited) Ocyrus Torrence became a made guy. Because KC hasn't had to not play without Kelce or Jones in these games.... Like nobody is winning trophies without your all pros. Maybe once you get lucky, maybe. But it's just not happening Look at the bills defense with Klein covering Kelce vs Bernard. It matters Edited Wednesday at 08:36 PM by Kelly to Allen Quote

They're also missing their top two WRs (including one who was on pace for a monster year) and two of their top defensive players, but I don't think many are using that as an excuse. I do remember a lot of people blaming an injury to an average LB for a playoff loss though... Which "average linebacker?" All-pro Matt Milano, or Defensive Player of the Week Terrell Bernard? Kelce is slowing down, so Mahomes simply isn't as good. There is no switch. The Chiefs were lucky - very lucky - to even be undefeated heading into the Bills game. Quote

I do remember a lot of people blaming an injury to an average LB for a playoff loss though... They didn’t really transform into a completely different team imo I just don’t get where that take is even coming from feels kind of like massive cope to me about the chiefs chances this year. Dropping mid 20s in points against the injury ravaged bills and dolphins defenses then completely shutting down Lamar and beating the ravens with 17 points wasn’t far off from how they were winning regular season games. lol I think there’s different tiers of ‘injury excuses’…the chiefs missing a corner that’s not even their best and getting exposed in the secondary is exponentially different than the bills losing so many linebackers that aj klein who had been chilling at home for months had to cancel a family rv vacation to start at MLB and missing their best corner on top of that. Literally not even debatable. just imagine a full strength bills team going against the chiefs down mcduffie,Bolton, tranquil and an extra linebacker of your choice and ask yourself honestly how that playoff game would’ve gone because that’s the chiefs equivalent of what happened to the bills 😂 wouldve been an absolute slaughter. Calling Milano/bernard/benford etc average players is pretty laughable. Terrell Bernard got all pro votes and Matt Milano was an all pro lol Edited Wednesday at 09:41 PM by Generic_Bills_Fan 2 2 Quote

Everybody said the same thing heading into last postseason. "Kelce's washed up, the WRs suck, KC's just not good enough this year...." Then suddenly they were. And Kelce was excellent throughout the entire postseason, including maybe his best game ever in Baltimore. After doing virtually nothing in his last three regular season games. Quote

Well, certainly, if our average LB's would have played that game - they would have shut him down like they did on Sunday. Quote

Then you should be feeling good about where things are at. I have no doubt Mahomes and Reid will figure things out come playoffs time relative to who’s catching the ball. What should be worrisome is that line. Watching the game on Sunday saw Mahomes being pressured repeatedly up the middle. That’s supposedly the strength of KC’s line. That was not happening last year even when their offense struggled. And of course the tackles, especially the left side. That’s the stuffs that should be concerning for you as a KC fan. Quote

Johnnycage46 Posted Wednesday at 10:52 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:52 PM Chiefs fans are insufferable. They literally lost A game this year and have 3 SB wins in the last 5 years and they just can't let another team even enjoy one damn game. They have surpassed Patriots fans in both pettiness and fragility. It's pathetic. 3 1 Quote

You can preach about how KC suddenly woke up in the playoffs all you want but you can’t do that year after year and expect to win. You can’t assume it will happen again and that all other teams will seemingly get crippled by injuries before you play them in the playoffs while you stay mostly healthy. Kelce is a future hall of famer but any TE with a pulse could have been effective against Klein with Mahomes under center. With Milano and Bernard playing, the game isn’t an easy cakewalk or anything, but we would be far more likely to see the Bills on the winning side. We were quite literally playing a guy we pulled off a beach hammock and a banged up Tyrel Dodson and had to try and scheme a way to keep Kelce + from destroying us entirely. Add to that we had our 2CB out and our 1CB playing on one leg as well as a banged up legends safety corp. Last year reminded me of 05-06 with the Sabres. We didn’t lose due to our play as much as our defense was decimated to a point where it made a game/series we should have had a slight advantage in, a loss. And that’s not to take anything away from the Chiefs or Hurricanes own injuries but in both cases our teams were hit with injuries specifically to one spot and then drilled into further by more injuries to the spot. The Sabres that year were using their 11th defenseman on the depth chart and possibly their 12th. The Bills had their 3rd and 6th LBs out there. Quote
