JerseyBills Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Yes , all 3 deserve it, hopefully this off season can work on a cpl or all 3 Quote

They are likely not going to break the bank for a slot receiver, nor should they, but it's also likely that somebody else will. What kills me I’d much rather see the team spend on offense than on the defense. Quote

That's pretty good for a slot receiver, but he isn't going to get paid like a #1 receiver, but I could see him getting 12 to 15 million per year. The Bills would definitely sign him at that price. He will get more than that. I think they will sign him anyway, but it will be at a higher rate than that. I'm still on the fence about signing Shakir. But I think the Bills love him. 1 Quote

A case could be made for keeping all of them in the fold. I hope we resign Shakir soon or his price tag will be in the high teens or 20's after next year. I think we can get Shakir in the 12-16 range if we resign soon. Bernard probably looking at 15-20 per. Benford probably in the 20-23 per. Edited November 18 by warrior9 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Yes if you can. Beane will have to get creative. If you sign all three of these, it may mean you let Rousseau and or Cooper go. Kincaid hasn't done enough to let Knox go just yet but a restructure makes sense for him. Let Von, Milano, and Douglas go. Maybe Dawkins too and that frees up some significant cap space. Of the three Shakir is probably easiest one to replace in draft or free agency. Bernard is the scariest. You could sign him to a big deal only for him to be injured often. Quote
US Egg Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Shakir's admitted blackout issue could be a concern. Given the cause it might not be going away anytime soon. Quote

Not to mention how small he is. He seems to get smaller every year. By the end of a new contract, he’ll be basically Danny DeVito. 1 Quote
NewEra Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Plus Rousseau…. Not sure they can. Surely hope that we can. Quote
ColoradoBills Posted November 18 Posted November 18 By the time Shakir's money kicks in Curtis Samuel is off the books. Perfect timing with the WRs. Same hold true with Bernard and Milano. Benford just gets signed. Beane is staggering these contracts after the "purge" pretty good. The position groups all look good with the exception of DL. Not sure how that is going to look after 2025. Alphadawg7 Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Calling it now: They are going to extend Shakir this offseason. WR price tags got a bit ridiculous the Christian Kirk year, that also included a silly Zay Jones contract the same year by the same hapless team. But, they have gotten a bit more grounded since then outside the elite top tier guys. With how much we spread the ball around, Cooper here now, and Keon and Kincaid back soon, and Shakir having missed a game, he likely finishes right where I said he would between 900-1100 yards. But, it does NOT really matter where he finishes at this point. They are not going to extend him based on season totals. They are going to extend him because he is literally the perfect piece for Josh, this offense, this locker room, and this team. You won't find a coach or player who doesn't gush about him, not only as a player, but as a person and locker room guy. And when they gush about him as a player, its not about how many yards he gets, its about how he is a COMPLETE player on the field at all times. How he finishes plays always near the ball, playing the right way, and so selfless. Most importantly how he is the most reliable, dependable, and consistent player on this team. Shakir and his wife seem to love and embrace Buffalo too...its seems to be mutual. He will have an opportunity to wait until he is a FA and probably get more money, but I think both him and the Bills will be mutually aligned to get a deal done sooner, where maybe its not the "most" money he could have got, but its guaranteed money that is fair to both sides who both want it to happen. He is a physical player, he takes a lot of punishment out there as we saw again this week. He knows an injury in his final year of his already cheap current contract could cost him a lot of money, so taking a deal this offseason for a big raise will certainly be something him and his team will have interest in. Personally, for the reasons I said above, I think he gets his deal this offseason and it will probably be something like 3 years and $50-$55M with $30M guaranteed or something like that. 2 Quote

I don't say it's a problem, just not as clear cut as most other positions. Groot probably is signed long term in the off season. Quote
Danger Mouse Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Josh loved having Cole Beasley. Shakir is the perfect upgrade. 1 Quote
Nephilim17 Posted November 18 Posted November 18 These three guys are a priority of a Cook — a good player and has developed as more than a quick outside runner — but backs are far easier to replace. Quote

All you can really do is hope guys like him don't hit the market where the contract numbers explode. You just hope he wants to be here and signs a "fair (whatever that could ultimately mean)" extension similar to the Spencer Brown situation. Quote
Process Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Benford is a no brainier and I hope they do it asap. I love Bernard, so fun to watch. I want to see him stay healthy the rest of the year. If can he is also a no brainer. The injuries concern me. Shakir is tough because we also have Greg to re-sign as well. I love Shakir. I hope they can make it work. I don't think he's going to get as much money as some here are predicting, but that may just be wishful thinking. Quote
Draconator Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Don't forget to add a new Allen deal to the mix. If the Bills win the Superbowl or get to the Superbowl, Allen could be around the $80 Million a year mark. 1 1 Quote
