For people who like it, Josh is at his highest ANY/A (7.42) since 2020 (7.82)
NY/A same trend

Passer rating again, highest of his career (98.2) since 2020 (107.2).  TD % up, INT % down, Y/A about the same, sack % a bit lower.

Yards per game are down about 30 ypg from the previous 3 years, so there's that.

I perceive the run game by "backs not named Josh Allen" as compensating for the lower passing ypg but this is a place where when I looked at the numbers, they didn't say what I thought they'd say:

Bills Rush Game
Year A/G Rank Team YPG Rank Allen YPG
20 26 18 107.7 20 26.3
21 27 13 129.9 6 44.9
22 27 20 139.5 7 47.7
23 30 5 130.1 7 30.8
24 28 7 119.2 15 25.4

You can all make of those numbers what you want.  League average rush Y/G is typically in the 11x - 115, 113, 119 (unless Henry is going nuts, then he single handedly shifts the average up to 120s)

My take is that the Bills improved from a below-average run game to an above-average run game by riding Josh Allen's legs.  This year, Brady is persisting in trying to build a solid rush game without Josh.  We're below average in Y/A at 4.3, but Brady will keep plugging away at the run and not shift it too much to Josh Allen (and to be fair, 4.3 Y/A moves the chains)

Allen just does not need to take the constant pounding of frequent runs. Let him do his thing when it’s time.  Josh is a better QB this year as he is more in control. Yes, he can put the cape on but he does not need to do it so much under Brady.  This is a great thing.

Too bad Brady will almost assuredly be a Head Coach somewhere next year as the "hot candidate" along with Ben Johnson for all the openings there will be.

Hope he looks hard before leaping, maybe talk to Dabs.  One 1/2  years as an OC with a QB like Josh?  He’d be better served to do what Ben J did last year.

You would think but it's hard to pass up the big payday and turn down your dream job as an NFL head coach that he has been working so hard towards for so long.

You never know when that opportunity will come around again and it's hard to just put it on hold, but depending on what team it is, he should definitely consider it...

As long as he has Allen as his QB1 his HC opportunity window will be open,

I judge a lot of this year's success on the fact that James Cook has 10 rushing touchdowns

We haven't had a RB who can succeed inside the 20 like that in all of Josh's career

That takes a huge amount of pressure off Josh in the red zone, and opens up the whole playbook whereas in previous years it was all on Josh

Last few weeks, it's definitely looked like Stroud is the one who needs those elite receivers.... Media won't talk about that though.

Stroud looked amazing last year. I really thought he was the real deal. This year he has taken a significant step back. He still has flashes of greatness, but you can tell that things aren't falling so perfectly for him this year. There is a lot more film on him.

100%. I'm always reluctant with anointing a good QB year 1, since RG3. Josh is proof you dont have to be great year 1 (and Bo Nix is taking a similar approach) ..

I'm very VERY hesitant on Jayden Daniels too. Tears up meh teams, his numbers over last 2 weeks are down almost 150 YPG against steelers/ eagles. Stroud was good last year... but then put himself in top 5.... Confidence is fine, running your mouth and being arrogant is not.

Just ask Caleb Williams.

I don’t get it…..Tracy Woolfson?

Hoosiers.

She didn't want Jimmy Chitwood to play.

His OC has struggled too. It is almost always the case with Shanny disciples. They know the playbook. They know the scheme. They don't understand the scheme the way Kyle Shanahan does. It is why for years McVay struggled to beat him head to head. Shanny knew how to stop his own offense and McVay didn't know the scheme as well as him to be able to adjust. McVay became a better coach in 2020 when he started to add his own wrinkles to the playbook. Can Slowick get to that point?

He was still looking pretty sharp this year while he had Nico Collins, Diggs, and Dell.

Losing Nico Collins was a significant blow. Their offense was not the same without him. It sucks that he burned us for a long TD before leaving the game, though.

McDermott seems to understand the scheme and how to stop it. He has a pretty excellent record against Shanahan and his disciples.

I saw McVay wrinkles from day one honestly

I never saw it as a complete rip-off of shanahan's offense ... It had a base of it but there were differences in tendencies

There's always going to be similarities from a coaching tree lineage but at the NFL level you just can't take someone's playbook 100% and implement it

The league adapts and grows and learns too fast for multiple exact carbon copies
