kitchen sink Posted Tuesday at 08:44 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 08:44 PM For all of you who replied that the player was going for the ball and that this is no big deal, I disagree. If a player is going at a QB to block a pass, but hits the QB in the head it is a penalty. This should be no different. As a player you are responsible for the outcome of your actions. 1 Quote
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted Tuesday at 09:26 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:26 PM I think this makes us appreciate the Taron Johnson punch-out from Raheem Mostert even more, cause he landed that square on the ball. 2 Quote

I don't see a cheap shot. Maybe, as some suggest, there's a different angle that shows something else. The second video is the better angle, he clearly punches him. Quote

Unfortunate for Josh, and should have been a penalty, but I don't think there was an intent to injure. Just a guy trying to make a play. 2 hours ago, msw2112 said: From the angle that the clip in the original post shows, I don't see much more than a futile attempt by a defender to make a play. If Josh doesn't start to go down just before that, then the punch would've been at the same height as where the ball was when he was upright. Quote
Captain_Quint Posted Tuesday at 09:40 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:40 PM Fines are levied on Wednesday, so probably tomorrow you'll see the same fine that the Colts guy got, about $11k. Quote

Regardless of fact or intent, this is a play we will remember for a long, long time. The Chiefs, at home on a National stage on 4th and 2 late in the 4th quarter, and then THAT happened! I’m with Josh, it’s one game and things get real in the playoffs, but that was one to remember! For some of you who might remember, it’s a little like Ahmad Rashad getting the TD to beat the Raiders late on Monday Night Football. “WAIT! Did that REALLY just happen???” Quote

I know he used a very good move to get separation, and Ferguson hit him. 1 Quote

It took forever to get out of the parking lots, but we listened to the post-game show on the radio. I could not have been happier anywhere else than stuck in traffic that night! 1 Quote

Wasn’t there something weird, like Blanda missed a 46 yard field goal with 46 seconds left and because it was just after midnight it was his 46th birthday. Quote

No different than trying to make a tackle and grabbing the face mask or barely touching the QB’s head with your hand when rushing. If the NFL is about player safety no one should be getting punched in the helmet. Secondly, the fine against the Colts player was hardly a fine. Rapp got fined like 17K for the bs call against Miami when the dolphins RB initiated the contact to the head. Quote

If you're punching a dude in the head, it should be a personal foul and a fine. Should be ejection - he knew what he was doing Quote
