meh, I think the trend is punching the ball out rather than stripping it.  I can't see why a player would punch a football helmet, good way to have a broken hand.

I have no issue with this. A punch to the face mask is not going to do anything. A punch to the helmet as well. It is nothing compared to the force of collisions produced on the football field.

 

If there was something to nitpick, it is the fact that Allen had crossed the goal line. But it was within a second of that happening.

I would hope the league will look at this, but if it's two weeks in a row, the Bills need to raise this as a question of refereeing since in general the league is supposedly trying to limit head blows.
 

Once shame on me, twice shame on you. They absolutely have to address this trend.  They talk the big talk about trying to minimize concussions. They change the entire kickoff for player safety.  But it's OK to throw haymakers at qbs temple...what a joke.

Then he needs to improve his awareness of the ball's location, which is a couple feet lower than where he's punching

Thanks for posting this. Its fast but you can see it clearly at the end of the run and its much dirtier than the Colts player's hit and a lot more sneaky. The Player is Dru Tranquil?? for the Chiefs and this should be a much heftier fine as Josh has already passed the plain and takes a hard punch to the jaw or face mask in a totally defenseless position. The punch, once again is nowhere the ball!

 

The eye in the sky should have flagged it and Tranquil should have been ejected at the very least. Oh sorry the eye in the sky seems to have no rhyme or reason to its usage.

Tranquill was trying (desperately) to make one last effort to get the ball. The game moves a million miles an hour. You really think he was like “well we just lost so I’ll punch Josh Allen in the head?”

He took a reckless shot at the ball and missed 6 inches to the north. The action of punching regardless if its at a football or not should be illegal.

I don't care what his intent was, Tranquill missed the ball badly and will get fined at a later date just like Odeyingbo.  Probably around 11k.

I saw all the camera angles and he was going for the ball.  Way different than last week.  It's unfortunately the risk you take when Allen runs.

Far be it from me to defend anyone on KC but being a Notre Dame fan, Drue Tranquil is up there in terms of character players and just an all around good guy. Punching a quarterback in the head would be so out of character to me as to not be believable. I thought he was going for the ball. Football is a fast game
