This game shows that a fully healthy D would have beaten KC in last year's playoffs

Go ahead, explain

We have beat KC in the regular season 4 straight years and never beat KC in the playoffs. You can tell me how this time is different, but I really don't care. As I said, it was a great win. I'm happy as hell. But as far as parlaying that thought into something beyond that, no thanks.

Maybe I'm wrong but I see it totally opposite.

Milano has been gone for so long and he is coming back from the injury faster than expected that they will have him use the

entire 21 days before activating him to the 53.

21 days I believe is right after the SF game. Not much of a difference.

A lot of this win was our guys winning one on one matchups against supposedly unstoppable players…obviously anything can happen and it’s a one game elimination structure which keeps everything exciting haha but i really don’t see many reasons why the chiefs won’t have even more of an uphill battle in the playoffs. With cam Lewis shutting down Kelce without much help and Torrence holding up against Chris jones I really don’t know what magical plays can possibly even exist that really turn the tables in the rematch.  Chris jones was covering up a lot of deficiencies on their defense by being absolutely unstoppable up until this point.

the way I see it 2020 afc championship the chiefs were definitely the better team, the 13 seconds game truly was a coin flip pun intended, and I really think we’ve pulled a bit ahead but were hamstrung by a ton of defensive injuries in the playoffs last year

One game week.  I'm saying after the 49ers not before.

Whenever he comes back it’ll be a ramp up. My guess is 10 snaps game 1, 20 game 2, and then evaluate from there.

The way reporters are talking about how good his movement looks so far makes me believe he’s ready. The bicep injury is really not the concern. If the doctors say he’s healed then it’s really about when his conditioning is good.

The Bills would have won last years playoff game if their Defense was at full health.

Mahomes did not look like his usual self, Kelce was basically invisible, and it was due to players that were out or playing hurt in that playoff game.

Not so easy for Kelce to get whatever he wants when AJ Klein isn't guarding him!!

Lets hope the D stays healthy for the rematch in this years playoffs!!

Go Bills!!!!!!!

I said it heading into the playoff game...said it during...and said it after.  We were in trouble with no LB's because a major strength of KC was not only attacking weak spots in a defense, but attacking our LB's.

I was convinced after that game that if just one...not even both...just one of Bernard or Milano had been healthy we would have won that game.  I am even more convinced today than I was then.

That’s not what I’m talking about. It was a great regular season win and fans should celebrate it as such. I’m referring to all the talk about this win catapulting the Bills to a superbowl win or multiple superbowl wins even. This pattern has happened too many times.

I don't think that's what most fans in this thread are doing at all.   I think that the OP was a bit over the top with his choice of the word "irrefutable" but he or she never went beyond claiming that with a healthy defense the Bills would have beaten KC in last year's playoffs.

If beating the reigning SB champions and ending their 15 game winning streak while extending their own winning streak isn't a reason for happy Bills fans to spin SB fantasies, what would be,  especially since the Bills are 9-2 themselves and almost guaranteed a home playoff game?   If you can't embrace optimism for the Bills' chances, that's okay, but what's the point of complaining about others enjoying themselves?

I, for one, am taking the time to enjoy this huge win. Every Bills fan deserves to. January will be here before you know it and beating KC in the playoffs is the obvious elephant in the room. Let's deal with that down the line. For now, enjoy it to the fullest.

Not specifically to this thread. Just comments throughout this forum since yesterday. To be clear I think Bills have a great shot this year to do it. Much more so than how I felt last year so I’m cautiously optimistic. It’s not about celebrating the win. It’s more of pronouncements that Bills will win it this year and many years to come. Like a regular season win is some kind of litmus test.

Yesterday was a great win no doubt. Bills beat one of the top AFC contenders. It’s not like that hasn’t happened before. It has literally happened the last three seasons. They have also finished with the #2 seed the last two seasons. That’s where the probability has them finishing again this year, as the #2 seed. Then we all know what happened in the playoffs. So my point was we’ve been down this road many times. It’s like playing a video game where you keep failing at a certain level. It’s hard to be super excited until you get close to that level again.

Proves nothing, each game is a clean slate. There are endless scenarios and circumstances that impact a games outcome.

I really hope the team isn't getting as high off this win as the fans are.  It's approaching ridiculous.

It's week 11.  Everyone needs to calm down.  No banners will be hung to commemorate this victory.

I didn't think everyone would get hung up on the word "irrefutable", so when the mods said my thread title was too vague, I decided to leave that word out.

I still stand by my belief that the Bills would have won last year's game if the Defense was fully healthy, and what I saw yesterday confirms that for me.

Irrefutable proof that.....

1) The Bills can beat anyone in the NFL at any time except Baltimore.

2) That Shakir and Bernard are the two best Bills players not named Josh Allen

3) Josh Allen is the most entertaining player in the NFL

4) This team is actually getting better week by week and just wait until they get healthy

5) Curtis Samuel lives.

6) The officiating remains terrible in the NFL.

Why can't we beat Baltimore?

I think our offense has yet to show their full potential.  We have seen Samuel emerge the past 2 weeks and begin to look like the player we were expecting to see when he signed in free agency.  Cooper has yet to be fully integrated in the offense due to injury and lack of familiarity with the playbook.  Coleman continues to trend upward pre-injury.   All of these guys healthy and in the mix with Kincaid...could be special if we are managing 30 points a game with Hollins playing significant snaps.

We hung 30 on the Chiefs missing 3 offensive starters and on a team that hasn't allowed more than 28 points in the regular season since Week 4 of 2022.

Also the 5th straight game the Bills have scored 30+...

This team is going to reach new levels by the end of the year offensively....they are already really, really good and they haven't peaked yet.

To add to these thoughts, the Bills have scored over 30 points in 5 straight games and in 8 of 11 games this year.

Cooper's only been here a few weeks. Coleman, Samuel, and Hollins are still developing chemistry with Josh. Ray Davis is a rookie.

I couldn't agree more that this offense has a lot more headroom to improve... there's still almost 7 weeks before the season finale against New England.

In theory we can, but they are a terrible matchup problem for us as they kill us with Henry running and or Lamar throwing and running.  Our defense is designed to allow rushing yards but not at the volume created by the Baltimore rushing offense.

I'll disagree. As I posted before, Terrell Bernard and Taron Johnson didn't play in the week 4 debacle at Baltimore. Also Cole Bishop played most of that game after Taylor Rapp was injured.

There's a lot of people here who don't understand how the loss of "smaller" players could hurt a run defense but all 3 of these players are assignment sound which is the first job of fitting runs... and secondly all are good at using instincts and angles (instead of anchoring) to defeat blocks.

Many here just assume that Detroit and Baltimore will run all over this defense.

If the Bills are healthy I don't think that happens.

The Bills are 82-43 under McD.  They are 58-34 against the AFC, but only 1-3 against Baltimore in the regular season.

What I find really interesting is that no one has brought up that we beat KC in the regular season last year.

This one felt different IMO. Last year it felt like the Chiefs screwed up the game more than we earned it, with the Toney offside penalty and Mahomes losing his cool about it so bad he forgot there was still a game to play. This time it felt like we went and really took the win on our own. No flukes, we just flat out made more plays than them. I've never felt better than I do right now that we have the pieces to get past them in January.

The regular season wins in ‘21 and ‘22 were even more convincing. They ultimately led to the same ending. However, I do agree that it felt different this year. To me it’s not about how convincing the win was. It’s all about Allen. He’s different this year in a good way. Much more composed during games. Making great decisions. Loved his post game comments. That is what’s giving me hopes that things might turn out differently this time.

And Mahomes has what, 28TD and 2INT? Where did this conversation about Burrow come from?

The unbalance this place has from wins and losses is hilarious

No.

Mahomes in his first 5 div rd or further playoff games has

13 passing touchdowns and 2 int

16 total tds and 2 tos

Allen and Mahomes first 10 playoff games are virtually identical with both being 1 and 2 in many categories

Allen is now 4-2 vs mahomes since 21 with better overall numbers statistically like passing touchdowns

Total tds and passer rating, EPA etc
