Chargers next season when they add some more talent are going to be a serious problem as they are already very good despite some talent flaws. Harbaugh is a great coach and Herbert is the best QB Harbaugh has had as an NFL coach. The Chargers adding a couple of pieces on both sides of the ball in the off-season is going to allow them to compete with elite teams in the AFC.

Eh 1. I'll believe it when I see it, 2. If it means the Chiefs actually have to deal with that in their division it's worth it.

Pretty sure he actually went backwards what with all the sacks.

Harbaugh is the modern day Chuck Knox. As long as he insists on employing offensive philosophies a la Greg Roman, there is a limitation on his team's ceiling. This isn't 1970

Harbaugh has the problem of playing a bit too conservative but I also think that in his run with the 49ers his uber conservative philosophy was driven by his lack of a quality QB. Alex Smith was a quality game manager but a QB with limitations. He then turned to Kap who was more dynamic with his legs but not a great passer. I think with Herbert he has a QB with far less limitations in his prime that will allow him to run a less limited offense.

That being said even if Harbaugh employs a bit of a dated "play not to lose" offensive style despite that limitation he is still going to have a team that is going to win 11+ games fairly consistently. He's got a fairly flawed team sitting at 6-3 with a big lead at the half in a game that could have them at 7-3. Add a little more talent on both sides of the ball and it isn't hard to see a team with the QB and HC in place being successful.

None of what you say is wrong, but you didn't disprove my point either. Jim Harbaugh will never win a Super Bowl as an NFL coach. As a matter of fact, he won't come particularly close

The Chargers are already a problem for the Chiefs.  They are getting better as the season progresses and the Chiefs aren’t.  If they can beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead in a few weeks, things will start to get very interesting.

I never said he would win a Super Bowl, I said he would compete with elite teams which if you are a consistent 11+ win team making the playoffs you will do that. Harbaugh as an NFL coach has taken a team to the Super Bowl and multiple Conference Championship games so that's pretty close already.

I mean the Chiefs seemed a lot better on offense today.
