Mahomes numbers were never going to look great, but he kept that team in that game yesterday in a way that 90% of other QB's couldn't.

I mean, we knew it was coming - but the cope from the "Kingdom" is more vocal than I thought online, repeating the narrative of "oh, perfect - they always beat us in the regular just to lose to us in the playoffs."

 

As though those kinds of sports narratives haven't changed dozens of times in sports history.  Take your loss, KC.  This was NOT the Bills' Super Bowl.  It was just a great regular season win that keeps us in the hunt for the 1 seed.

This rivalry started heating up last playoffs. I know we’ve played a lot but until KC started coming to Buffalo I don’t think it felt like a real heated rivalry. 
 

 

I really hate that team, and their fans, and the nitwits who cover them locally. Kelce  can do his sarcastic clap all he wants. He got his ass kinked yesterday and they certainly wanted to win that game, despite pretending otherwise.  Now that their bubble has been burst on their undefeated season I would not be surprised if they lost a few more down the stretch.

The 3-0 in the playoffs is obviously true on paper but extrapolating that into evidence the chiefs have our number or something is a bit misguided imo and I think their fans are likely starting to realize that deep down 😂.  

Whoever won the OT coin toss was winning that 13 seconds game without a doubt, and the last meeting the injury situation between the two teams was completely lopsided. Heck the injury situation in this one was somewhat lopsided compared to who the bills will have available come playoff time and the chiefs still lost.  They have a bunch of injuries too but guys like rice and Hollywood brown very likely aren’t returning

Glad the Bills have their bye week now as after this game, playing next week could have been a big letdown game.  Having two weeks between will help them better get ready.  Add to that hopefully much healthier too.

To the bolded, Mahomes completed 6 passes on the TD drive that narrowed our lead to 23-21. Most of them were small window throws made on the run. It was amazing quarterbacking.

 

In contrast, on the Bills final TD drive which settled the outcome, Josh ran the ball 4 times for 41 yards culminating in the 26 yard TD run.

 

With all due respect to Lamar Jackson, no other QB in the NFL could have done that... tacklers want to hit Jackson, they are much less eager to tackle Josh.

Just last 5-10?  When I used to tour with bands, every time that I stayed at a RRI, I thought that they'd end up filming an episode of COPS.

Changing the subject a bit, the Bills accomplished a few nice things yesterday:

• The last team to go undefeated in the regular season was the New England Patriots in 2007. KC will not touch that record for at least another year.
• The Chiefs had won 15 straight games dating back to last season (and including the playoffs). The NFL record is 21 (New England 2003-2004). New England's record is safe.
• The Chiefs' defense had held 30 straight opponents under 28 points. The streak is the longest for any team since the 2000-01 Philadelphia Eagles posted a 34-game streak under the guidance of – remarkably – Head Coach Andy Reid. That streak is now ended.
• The Bills are the first team to beat the Chiefs by more than one score since the Titans on October 24th... 2021.

It was great to take all of these possible accomplishments away from Kansas City.

Couple of those comments are pretty hilarious calling some of those highlights holds.  Chiefs were getting away with holds left and right by those standards and even got away with a handful of blatant facemasks lol

Fair. Saying something like "we'll do this again" as they greet post-game is surely a big step up over bitching about the refs.

I was thinking respect would go for the traditional "good game, bro, that run was killer" in the bro-hug or "that's a very good football team and they made plays, credit to them". 

"We didn't play our best" and "that's a good football team" just struck me as faint praise.

This is your superbowl is so hilariously misused so often lol. That one is really reserved for a not very competitive team upsetting a division rival.  It doesn’t apply to one of the top teams in superbowl odds right now 🤣

 

I think they’re coping pretty hard to the fact that their odds are no better than 50% against the bills at best playoffs or not.

I don't know where you are getting these but KC lost to Denver 24-9 last year (October 29, 2023).

Hamstrings suck.

They just won't go away and it's probably something he'll be sporadically dealing with the rest of the year.
