You kinda knew it wasn't going to happen.  Wasn't exactly an angry run either.  Just a hell of a play.  I'd take the bills/cowboys 4th down over sunday as an angrier run.

If that's the case, then I'd rather the color analysts don't get any inside access to gameplans during the week. I still want to listen to an NFLer break down what they're seeing and anticipating to help me understand how we should all "see" the game from an Xs and Os standpoint. 

 

The human interest narratives and talking points are completely irrelevant to the game on the field anyways. Does nothing for me, personally. Give me analysis instead. Just stick with the plays currently happening. Stop with the bigger picture commentary. 

I for one want to hear more about substitutions who just came on the field , alignments , looks. Adjustments. The cameras dont catch that in real time

 Then AFTER the play they can talk about why a team called a play on defense or offense and why it succeeded or failed. No need to predict the call. Takes the fun out of the game , regardless of how correct Tony might be.

Don't know if it's been mentioned, bills picked off the first pass from a qb 2 weeks in a row. Also, Mahomes first and last pass were Ints.

I believe the term is " whistling through the graveyard ".   They should realistically have 5 losses this year, and with their upcoming schedule I can see them with 6-7 losses total.

I mean, no offense, but anyone worth their salt that has any connection to an NFL team as a QC analyst or breaks down film will be able to see what the other team is doing by watching the film.

 

It's not like he is giving them stuff they aren't able to simply find themselves.

 

And with the obsession level over things like that, there is no way they are "hiding" stuff they are putting on tape from opponents.

 

Just sounds like teams are paranoid about stuff the other teams already know anyway.

Those genius plays Andy Reid supposedly saved for the playoffs causing his team to blow the 1 seed and 2 seed in the regular season last year were so outrageously good that they just squeaked by an aj klein led defense lol 

such a hilarious cope.  Bills are as good as the chiefs at minimum…just haven’t had that kc streak of luck in the playoffs yet and chiefs fans are now starting to realize it.  Don’t think they’re handling it well 😂

I am not sure...Josh had as many great plays as Mahomes throwing the football.  The throws to Cooper on both sides of the field were absolutely right on spot.  The same on the play to Curtis Samuel early in the 1st quarter...Those are hard throws to make and Allen made them... Similarly, the throw to Knox was perfectly placed.

I agree there is a major level of paranoia, but it also must have some potential impact.

 

If film study was solely enough - then teams would struggle to disguise blitz packages and QBs with 5+ years would not be tricked by coverages or blitzes or spy’s, etc.  
 

It can have an impact even beyond a single game.

 

For example:  KC lined up to go for it on 4th down and “acted” like they were trying to get the Bills to jump Offside, but with around 10 seconds left on the play clock - Mahomes just started walking toward the sidelines.  The Bills had a player following him and KC took the delay of game, but they may have been looking for something to see if they could sneak him out for a quick pass.  
 

Now that is not on film as nothing happened and the play gets sorted by penalty and is not “categorized” as a play, but if Romo (or any analyst) saw KC practicing that for a specific look and then casually mentions during the game on the 4th down - you know watch for this - it might be a good time for a trick and then if it doesn’t happen point out that - well they were setting up something, but this player followed him - that specific play that a coordinator was holding could get ruined because even though it was not on film - it was discussed durning the game as an option and people now move that to a potential trick play.

 

Now does the NFL take that to an extreme - yes definitely, but at the same time you have coaches like McD or Belicheck that won’t even share real injury information or allow media to talk about practices and players positions in preseason - my guess is they hate having production teams scouring their building and watching their specific game planning practices and talking to the coaches about the approach as they look for every edge possible - even slight perceived edges.

Luck plays such an unacknowledged part in success, especially at the end of a long season.  For example, injury luck.  See: AJ Klein and one-winged Dodson, Bills LBs vs Chiefs.

But anyone who thinks Reid and Mahomes don't set out to do "whatever it takes" to win when they step on the field, is delusional.   See: "Paddy Melt" after Toney's Offside called back.
