bigduke6 Posted November 18 Posted November 18 serious question here. Kelce was caught on camera clapping as the Bills won. i think it happened after Bernard picked Mahomes and the Chefs offense was walking off the field. was it a respectful clap, or him being an asshat? i couldnt really tell. I took it as respectful. Both teams seem to have respect for the other. 4 10 Quote

My sister was at the game and said that Kielce had been "taunting" Bills fans in her section, towards the end of the game. Not sure exactly what that entailed, but my guess is that the clap was basically a tip of the cap. 2 Quote

Was a strange play. "Let him score" would make absolutely no sense there. The Chiefs are a well coached team. So I doubt they were unsure. What they were unsure about, once he got the first down, is whether he would slide and stick them with an UR, since he had been sliding earlier in the game. Hopefully that connection isn't lost on Josh. But let's give Josh his propers. What Von Miller said when he was still with Denver "you better have a plan to tackle him". The Chiefs didn't have a plan to tackle him, and they underestimated his open-field speed. Because Josh is big, he doesn't appear as fast as he is. If that were Lamar doing that run we'd have heard a bunch about how he's so incredibly special and no other QB can run like that. But because Josh is able to run people over, his ability to make people miss goes under-appreciated. 3 1 Quote

This has been one hell of a coaching job by McDermott, Babich and Brady. I LOVE the fact that Babich was not afraid to go man-to-man on 3rd downs and come after Mahomes...made him very uncomfortable and got home numerous times. Only allowing 260 yards to the Chiefs and holding Mahomes under 200 yards passing is quite an accomplishment. Babich is the DC now...I think him being willing to not be afraid of Mahomes on 3rd down and switch to man to man quite often in those situations and come after Mahomes paid huge dividends. He looked discombobulated for much of the game and unsure. I did feel that the defense KC saw yesterday looked a little different to the Chiefs. They were not quite expecting the continued aggressiveness. That was one of the few worthwhile comments I heard from Romo, about how this is the most pressure the Bills have ever gotten on Mahomes. 4 hours ago, Rochesterfan said: He was told to stop - not because he was a former player diagnosing these plays and telling us what may come - but because he had inside knowledge based upon discussion with the team and watching practices that are closed to media - he was telling us what they actually gameplanned. The teams were complaining to the NFL that he was talking about their “secrets” for specific looks and teams threatened to shut down any info for Him and Nance if it continued. It is the same reason the Brady owning a part of LV and being a broadcaster took so long to happen - there was a ton of stipulations that had to be addressed to ensure information wasn’t passes to other teams. Romo was so great early because he was breaking norms by sharing info on how teams installed a gameplan for that opponent, but that info is then available for other teams to exploit as they see concepts. If he shared thoughts based upon just what he saw on the field it would be one thing, but when he would talk about what “triggered” a blitz based upon formation - that was info gleaned from the discussions with the team and watching specific practices where the gameplan is installed. Interesting. Both things are true though - Romo may have been sharing insights based on inside info, but he also was sharing insights based on 14 years in the NFL He's stopped doing both. Yesterday he came across to me as a giant FanBoy commercial for KC. Everything was from KC's POV, offense and defense. 1 Quote
Cray51 Posted November 18 Posted November 18 My takeaways: 1) Even though the run game wasn't working well, it forced KC to keep guys in the box. Credit to Brady for keeping them honest 2) Defense came ready to play. Front four did a good job creating pressure WITH lane integrity. Mahomes does not have the weapons right now to score at will if you keep lane integrity and dont let him escape. Bills did a great job in that regard 3) Kelce is a shell - I know he had a good past few weeks, but he isn't blocking as well and he looks slower. He may only have a year or two left of football 4) Chiefs defense is really really sound in the front 4. They make the secondary's job much easier. 5) Shakir needs to be a Bill for a long time. His RAC, hands, durability are all top notch 6) I'd expect to see more Ty Johnson if we play them again. He burst out of the backfield helps against such a strong front 4. Cook dances a little too much for me 7) McD is coach of the year right now. Tomlin is also doing wonders, but I dont believe it's sustainable. This team was being talked about as a potential non-playoff team, and they are 9-2 and just beat the Chiefs. 8) Dawson Knox is likely gone after this year. Morris and Ferguson will come and take his spot. I'm incredibly happy with what Knox has done for this team - even though he gave up too early on that 4th down route lol 9) Bills can beat ANYONE at home. #1 or #2 seed are a must for this team. With their remaining schedule, and how HEALTHY they are, they can absolutely achieve that. 5 Quote

And Greeny is about to get on GetUp! and do the same. just about every print article I have been reading comes with a, “but can the bills do this in the playoffs?” Qualifier. I am pretty annoyed by it. 2 Quote
BananaB Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Nice not having Spencer Browns 2 or 3 penalties yesterday Quote

The Chiefs played more zone defense than they normally do against the Bills and the Bills played more man defense than they normally do against the Chiefs. It was a fascinating chess match which stopped either QB playing their best overall game BUT was sprinkled with high end throws by both of them in certain moments. Maybe it was the lack of genuine season jeopardy in it, maybe it was the strategy nerd in me, maybe it was the sense of balance between O and D, but I REALLY enjoyed that game. Though despite the lack of jeopardy I still roared the Allen TD run and the Bernard pick. Edited November 18 by GunnerBill 4 1 1 Quote
BillsFan130 Posted November 18 Posted November 18 I think this was the best game by the bills d line as a collective unit. Rousseau took advantage of KCs weak tackles all game long, and Ed Oliver had a tough assignment against Kcs interior but was winning a lot 2 Quote
RiotAct Posted November 18 Posted November 18 I feel like SNF’s coverage of the KC-BUF game last night was fairly muted, especially compared to if KC would have won to stay undefeated. 😂 An even more petty observation (admittedly): They didn’t even show the final score on the screen behind Tirico and Collinsworth in the 3 or 4 times they cut to them on camera. 1 Quote

We are going to find out first hand soon enough We buried Jacksonville the same way Detroit did, scoring 5 TDs on our first 5 drives. AND Jacksonville had Lawrence not Mac Jones. So I think we can hang with the Lions too. 1 1 Quote
