It couldn't do any harm to bring him in for a try out and if he doesn't do it for the team then let him walk out the same door he came in .

Considering that Kolb slipped on a shower mat to end a career, you'll have Thornton go out a back exit, as to not injure any active Bills players.

And couldn't show as one of the best 6 WRs in a horrible Patriots WR room.

Bad argument.  The Pats also recently cut JuJu Smith-Schuster, who is now playing a prominent role in KC.

That is what Titans did with useless Safety Bills signed.

Just like Yannick Ngakoue and Tyrel Dodson before him - we can't just bring him in.

He's on Waivers. We'd have to claim him and hope no one else above us claimed him and we're pretty much at the bottom of the list. Both scenarios are unlikely as I don't see us sticking him on the 53 and on a Rookie contract, I imagine someone above us will take a flyer on him.

If he were to clear waivers, I'd take a look for the Practice Squad. But I'd be surprised if we get that opportunity.

Didn't the bills want to draft him? And then traded back to get Cook once he was taken?

Not sure if I'm mistaking him for another player

I'd doubt it. Thornton was someone who was considered an EXTREME reach when he was taken in Round 2 by New England. Even with his speed, he was considered someone who probably improved his stock at the Combine from a Late Rounder or UDFA to a possible 4th Round Pick.

JuJu at least had prior success in the NFL and was already Familiar with the KC offense. Thornton has not. The Pata have nothing at the position and could not justify him being on the field despite investing a high draft pick in him.

Are the Bills great judges of WR talent, especially at the bottom of the roster?

They signed Quintez Cepheus, Chase Claypool and Marquez Valdes-Scantling and none of them stuck.

Cut MVS and now someone named Jalen Virgil is the 6th-WR.

The cutting MVS made no sense...He salary was already fully guaranteed..

MVS was available, KC needed a wr and they passed. That should speak volumes.

Yes I trust the Bills wr evals

Or younger wrs passed him and he didn't want to go to the ps

As for Thornton, I would definitely consider signing him to the ps or even as wr 6 possibly. His speed is incredible

Beane has done it a few times gone back to guys he liked at the draft who didn't pan out elsewhere.

Just curious.... did any of them work out for the Bills?

They signed lottery tickets to low contract offers in the WR market. None paid off. They didn't burn a 2nd round pick on any of them. Huge difference.
