LabattBlue Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Dawkins untouchable?😂 On a related note, is he bigger(heavier) than ever? Quote

machine gun kelly Posted November 15 Posted November 15 (edited) I don’t know why some just keep looking to seek at the right price when it’s taken McBeane years to build a cohesive team. Just my opinion during the tenure of McBeane. To make it easy, I’ll just add either this year or last two years over the 8. Offense Line is the best these last two years TE Group is the best these last two years RB Stable is the best these last two years QB - well nuff said WR- mediocre, but promising after the bye as Coleman should be back and climbing, Cooper ascending with more time and wrist probably healed. Defense D Line is solid on the interior, and serviceable on the Ends LB’s will be the best when Milano and Bernard are together D Backs are the best as Tre, Poyer, and Hyde were getting old. Benford, Taron, amd Rasul are studs. Rapp is doing very well and per PFF Hamlin has been rating as a better starting safety in the league. He’s not Poyer in his prime, but Poyer is not in his prime My point is why sell off talent because maybe we’ll get someone better which is a crap shoot. Even with the Cooper trade, we still have 10 draft picks. 5 of those picks are in the first four rounds. That’s our future. It’s also cheap labor. For an insurance policy, I can see picking up at the end of the draft a kicker to develop. This is assuming one of the 4th rd picks will be a compensatory pick. BullBuchanan Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Everything is for sale at the right price, including Josh Allen. If KC wanted to trade Mahomes and a 1st for him, you absolutely take that deal. Realistically, will anybody give you the right price? No, but that's a different matter. There isn't another true super star on the entire roster that I wouldn't trade for a much more realistic return. I'd think you could have your pick of 52 other players for a decent 1st round pick. 1 Quote

When you have a top 8 LT and RT on your roster, locked down, you dont pick up the phone. A top 5 first round pick? Ok, I'll listen. But that's not getting moved for either of those players. A second rounder? Crazy talk IMO. You are creating a huge hole to pick up a chance at a player who would be as good as these guys. 1 Quote

BearNorth Posted November 15 Posted November 15 McGovern is quietly becoming one of the better centers in the league - only 27, should have a number of good years left. We do have VanPran-Granger behind him, but witness how essential Jason Kelce was to the Eagles recent success. Quote
corta765 Posted November 15 Posted November 15 (edited) The question is a bit odd but I get where your coming from so I will answer it like this in terms of who my core is for the next 4-5 years that it would take an absolute insanely big yes trade for: Offense Allen Shakir Coleman S. Brown Defense Rousseau Bernard Benford Johnson I am sure some people would say why not Dawkins or Oliver, to me the size of their contracts with their age I would absolutely entertain a deal for the right price. I remember we traded Cordy Glenn who was very solid at the time of trade; if a good deal finds you which can happen with lineman you don't say no. Kincaid right now I am underwhelmed with honestly. He showed a ton of promise last year, but this year has been inconsistent and hurt. Right now I think he is very hard to project contract wise and would not be worth the money when you can honestly spend it elsewhere. This can change though as he has time, but for my core its a no right now. By comparison Coleman is at a position where a good WR on a cheap contract is so valuable in todays NFL. As of right now with the growth shown I am 100% willing to let him play out 5 years, but again that can change. Edited November 15 by corta765 Quote
BADOLBILZ Posted November 15 Posted November 15 I think we have a bunch of people who don't understand that "untouchable" is a player they can't trade for any realistic price. We've got people mentioning zone CB's and interior OL. I mean, gtfoh. Josh Allen and Rousseau are their least dispensable players.........but Allen is the only one who they can't afford to trade for any realistic price. I believe you can only trade picks from the next 3 drafts and Allen is worth more than anyone's as-yet-determined next 3 drafts. And they aren't going to trade you all their picks AND also good players. We've discussed a potential day when Allen wants to move back home to CA but on the surface the Bills would have to agree to trade him for less than his worth to them. 1 Quote

It is why untouchable really doesn't make sense and I went with who is my core for the next 4-5 years that I need an incredible trade for to consider. Truthfully the only untouchable is Josh, your nuts to not say yes to two 1sts for any player on this roster given the way the cap works and how valuable rookie contracts/contributors are 1 Quote

You'd be trading a known entity in your specific situation, at the most important position in sports, for a fairly comparable player who would now be in a new environment without arguably the greatest play-caller and TE of all time at his disposal. I would pass on that deal, believe it or not. 2 Quote
DabillsDaBillsDaBills Posted November 15 Posted November 15 You guys are way too sentimental. The only guy on the list is Josh Allen. Partly because of how good he is, and partly because of the dead cap if we do trade him. Anyone else can be traded for the right price. There's only a few guys where I'd want a 1st rounder (or more) coming back. Quote

Buffalo716 Posted November 15 Posted November 15 I'm not moving Spencer Brown unless it's literally a top 10 pick LOL He's going to be a future All pro even if just once Quote
dma0034 Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Benford is the only other truly elite player the Bills have (not counting Milano since he isn't playing). I think I could roll the dice on a 1st rounder with any other player so none of them are untouchable. Quote

Bernard maybe pre free agency cycle. As for Taron and Dion…. Replacing an all-pro CB or top 10 LT that’s willing to take a hometown discount at contract time isn’t worth the risk unless you need a quarterback. Quote
