Augie Posted November 14 Posted November 14 In our first house the guy next door would buy all the Mike Tyson PPV fights. We’d go over very early, because the fights were often over within the first 15 seconds. That was “a thing”, just like watching Tiger in a Major for a while. Must see TV, indeed. 6 2 Quote

Tyson may be old but I still think he's got a very solid and deadly punch. I just hope there's no last minute changes or anything like that and they finally get it on! Augie Posted November 14 Posted November 14 If it’s on Netflix with no additional cost, I’d be curious enough to check it out. I had no idea how it was being viewed, and it snuck up on me that it’s tomorrow. It’s one of those things they talk about that never seems to come. I actually have no idea who the other guy is. I didn’t care enough to retain much of what I heard. 🤷♂️ 1 Quote

Mike probably has about 2-3 rounds before he's sucking wind and turns into a punching bag for the kid. If internet boy has a brain in his head, he'll be on his bicycle for about 8 minutes and then stand off and pick the old man to pieces on the move. If he's dumb enough to stand in there with him early, I hope he gets exactly what he deserves. * This presumes there is not already a script in place 1 1 Quote
Johnny Hammersticks Posted November 14 Posted November 14 I’d love to see Jake Paul fight an actual top 10-15 cruiserweight. Not a MMA grappler or a washed up boxer. I think Jake Paul probably knocks Tyson out. What a joke. I’ll be watching though. Quote
Mike in Horseheads Posted November 14 Posted November 14 NYS didn't approve for betting. Such a farce 1 Quote

BillsPride12 Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Getting together with My Dad and brothers and some family friends to watch it. I don't really have too much interest in the event itself but it will feel like a cool throwback to gather with some people to watch a fight. Still have great memories of my Dad hosting big fight parties in the 90's, we had the cheater box and he would have all the neighbors over. Glorious times 1 1 Quote
US Egg Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Paul no doubt is working hard at the craft, but still can’t take him serious, nor think he’s doing much for bringing back boxing. Quote

If he still has it mentally (I imagine he does) and he can move his body at all he will overtake him easily. There have been few fighters to ever fight with the rage that Tyson ever fought with in the history of the sport. Quote

Also heard a cynical take from a radio guy saying that it will go all 8 rounds because that's what Tyson, Paul and the promoters want. Guys like me who back in the day watched Tyson obliterate everyone in his path want to see a first round knockout. I stopped watching boxing years ago when it became obvious the outcomes were pre-determined, I'll probably watch tomorrow but I expect to be disapponted. Quote
thenorthremembers Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Paul has some snap to his punches but lets be honest about what this is, its a money grab. Thankfully Netflix footed the bill for us. Paul has fought three fighters who are actual boxers and is 2-1 against them. The one guy he fought who wasn't past his prime was Tommy Fury, despite his name he isnt a knockout puncher and Paul still lost to him. Paul has purposely fought boxers who have low knockout rates. Anyone tuning in to watch Tyson knock him out is going to be vastly disappointed. Tyson is a legend, but he hasnt won a fight in 21 years. He is 31 years older than Paul. The entire thing is a circus. 1 Quote

frostbitmic Posted November 15 Posted November 15 I have Netflix but still don't have a desire to watch this "exhibition" I do hope Tyson leaves Paul bruised and bloodied in the center of the ring, but he'll have to catch him first. Paul will eventually run out of ring and get caught. For his sake, hopefully before Tyson gets mad. Quote
GoBills808 Posted November 15 Posted November 15 will not watch absolutely cannot stand Jake Paul Quote
