Cooper says he plans to play Sunday with a cast!

We have a lot of internet tough guys who also seem to have lots of inside knowledge to the extent of his injury.  He is wearing a cast of some sort which implies its not just pain.

For those saying that he isn't playing because of it being the last year of his contract, that's preposterous. He's on the wrong side of 30 and this is his last chance at getting a big contract and if he doesn't play and perform then his contract will be much shorter and less lucrative than if he were to perform at a high level for the remainder of this year.

From what I've read, Amari is a different sort of cat in the sense that his lack of emotion and demeanor can be misinterpreted.  Whatever the case may be, if he doesn't play now, he'll play after the bye week and I'm ok with that.

If we are relatively healthier than we have been all year once the playoffs start, we should all be thankful that some of our guys didn’t play on injuries that they were technically “cleared” to play with.

Agree in principle, but you just know that we won’t be.

I don't have great feelings about this guy.  It's rare you get comments from McD that can be viewed as critical of a player.

I think it's clear that Cooper is a different kind of guy, it's probably why he's bounced around.  I don't see him has having that Bills "DNA."  I know some have speculated that we extend him beyond this year but I don't see that as a fit.  Hopefully this is just a blip and he gets us where we need to go this year.

Cooper is a really good player and this deal should help us a lot… but something is off.

YE OLE took some flack for saying this when the trade was announced, but McDermott’s comments about him at the time were very strange. He went out of his way to indicate he didn’t know about him being a good leader and a lot of times these moves don’t work out. McDermott’s comments now about him still seem to slant negatively. He usually has a way of talking up players while acknowledging they can also improve… but that is never the case with Cooper. Personally, it seems like McDermott never wanted this guy here. Again, YE OLE likes McDermott (perhaps more than most) and Amari Cooper. This should be a great move for this team… but YE has to call the balls and strikes wherever they may be and this situation is bizarre.

I’m still good with the overpay and letting Amari walk, which was my position when it happened.

We were stuck between a rock and hard place with the cap this past off season, and despite attempting to throw what little money we had at WR it just didn’t work out.

Amari gives us a chance in Jan - that’s why he’s here. But I have little interest in paying him top dollar for a repeat of the end of his Raiders, Cowboys, and Browns tenures. Fool me once…

yup same board that loves mack hollins hates amari cooper lol

definitely checks out

I hate to admit it good sir, I'm one of them. I like, not love, Hollins and starting his 2nd week here, I'm not a fan of Cooper.  One would think he would take advantage of having Allen as his QB to pad his stats before what might be his last payday, but alas...

It’s confusing why some are upset with Beane and Amari with the injury.

Injuries happen and prior to, Amari was known as a very durable player

It’s bad luck that’s all .

Maybe the player will love it here and give us an offseason discount to come back

Cooper and DeShawn Watson must have the same agent. Medically cleared to play, but doesn't wanna play. When you hear guys like Khalil Shakir fighting through pain to play (from some very obvious nasty hits), I always wonder how the players in the locker room reconcile that.

I too, think the key is his availability for the playoffs...but if I were on the field fighting through injuries (which many are at this point in the season), not sure how I'd feel about a guy medically cleared to play that was resting. Morale and chemistry will overlap into the playoffs...plus your superstar QB plays through injuries all the time.

Yeah there is little that is going to devalue a WR looking for the last contract of his career like missing extended time. Whether his hand is strong enough to take Allen's fastball is a legitimate question. I expect he plays

At this point if he can’t go let him rest it over the bye week at the end of the day beating KC in the regular season isn’t going to win us the SB

it also allows us to hide how we would use him against their d if we do meet in playoffs

Gives us another 5-6 games to play/practice and get a feel for him in the offense without dealing with injuries.

Instead of hiding the fact that Josh will be throwing him balls to catch, why doesn’t he get out on the field and develop some chemistry with him?

Definitely concerning, but I'm not going to freak out about this yet. I'm fine if they sit him this week and through the bye personally. I know what that means for our chances this week but honestly to get the 1 seed is a massive ask anyway.

I don’t see the massive ask.

Win this week and we are 0.5 game back from the 1 seed.

I mean, that’s as close as you can get without actually having the 1 seed.

Literally anything could happen over the next 7 games. Mahomes could be knocked out of a game and the Chiefs lose a couple. Or they could get a bad ref call. Or they could just straight-up lose a couple as they’ve been very lucky to win what they have.

Win this week and it’s basically a race for the 1 seed until someone blinks.

Lose this week and the 1 seed is gone.

He was $3M vs $1M for Cooper.

Chiefs were in same cap situation as us and made it work.

hopkins had a pre-existing knee issue when chiefs traded for him too, and hes still playing through it, where Cooper was fully healthy when he joined the Bills.  That Hopkins is still going while Cooper suddenly has a wrist injury is just typical Bills vs Chiefs luck lol
