I still don't get the folks saying he is not trying to play.

The guy has a cast on his wrist meaning most likely a pretty damn significant injury.

Yet - people are questioning why he isn't on the field.

Hell - some of you all would call out of work with carpal tunnel in one wrist. ;)

Grapes calling football players soft is entertaining.

I got to watch Pele play with the New York Cosmos vs Rochester Lancers, he was a huge talent, my Lancers lost that match,  great movie,

That's awesome. I have seen Zidane, Messi and Maldini in the flesh I think they are probably the best 3 players I have had the pleasure to see live.

It’s truly amazing to watch guys like those maneuvering around a pitch, they just stand out,

Cause this is what some fans do.  The don't take things at face value, and like to put their whole spin on things.   Before you know it, the media is reporting Cooper beat up his wife and that's the reason for the cast.

a lot of wrist injuries on the team this year..

It's not something I remember seeing a lot of league-wide.

Obviously it's just random but notable.

Tyreek Hill and Davonte Adam with wrists too.

I get the fans frustration. We go out and spend a 3rd round pick on a one year rental player, a shiny new toy for JA17 and in the first month we've gotten a game and a half out of him and if he sits this one out it'll turn into 1 1/2 games in a month and a half. Will he be recovered after the bye or will this be an ongoing problem for the rest of his tenure here ?

The team only has four options ... 1. Play him even if doing so makes it worse ... 2. Sit him until he's healthy ... 3. Amputation ... 4. Spleen transplant.

Options 3&4 might be a bit drastic for now but if Coleman is back before him ...

Who cares how many games he plays? The only reason he's here is to help win a Super Bowl. Padding regular season wins isn't going to do that. Rest him until the playoffs.

Interesting note - Cooper has never played the KC Chiefs during the Mahomes/Reid/Spags era.

That is interesting actually. Makes me even more of a mind that I am not forcing him out there this week if I have a chance to get him fully healthy and have him as a weapon they haven't seen before at playoff time. I know he is hardly some unknown quantity, but if the DBs haven't got a feel for how it is to go against him, his release, his level of physicality etc I can't help but think there may be some, slim, advantage in that at playoff time.

well, his HC just said he didn't know exactly what was preventing the guy from playing or "what the next step" is needed to get him in a game.  So it's unlikely that McD would be unaware of a "pretty damn significant injury".  Also, the cast he is wearing is not consistent with an plaster cast for fracture.  It appears quite small and hardly immobilizes his wrist.  Looks like a boxer's tape up.

My guess is the owner asked McD what he is paying Cooper for this week and encouraged him to convince Cooper to play.

So the guy with a history of drops and who currently leads the NFL in drops despite 2 missed games that also dropped his first pass as a Bill then bobbled his 2nd pass almost dropping an easy TD is going to play with a cast?

Not sure how I feel about this...glad he is at least on the field, but would be lying if I said it wasn't a concern

I don't have great feelings about this guy.  It's rare you get comments from McD that can be viewed as critical of a player.

I think it's clear that Cooper is a different kind of guy, it's probably why he's bounced around.  I don't see him has having that Bills "DNA."  I know some have speculated that we extend him beyond this year but I don't see that as a fit.  Hopefully this is just a blip and he gets us where we need to go this year.

Oh no!! Heaven forbid we have a player who isn't EXACTLY Bills "DNA"  whatever that is.  Give me a break.
