Kinda seems like McD is saying the Bills have cleared him to play but Cooper feels that he is in too much pain. McD notes that he isn’t even sure what the next step would be to get him back.

UPDATE!

Homie just doesn't want to play.

In a way, yes. He’s a free agent next year. The Bills are unlikely to sign him. So he has a lot of personal incentive to not further injure himself or be at less than his capability because it will

cost him in his next contract. As it is, his value is declining.

Rub a little dirt on it and get back in there......that's a little motivation taken right out of Sweat's old man handbook.

But where can you find dirt at OBD?

Not in a contract year for a team that is 8-2.  Literally zero reason to rush back.

At this point if he can’t go let him rest it over the bye week at the end of the day beating KC in the regular season isn’t going to win us the SB

it also allows us to hide how we would use him against their d if we do meet in playoffs

Gives us another 5-6 games to play/practice and get a feel for him in the offense without dealing with injuries.

Obviously would love to have him back for this game, but it's definitely not the end of the world or anything approaching it.   He should be in a really good spot after the bye week.

Maybe there's a reason he was traded from the Raiders to the Cowboys ... Cowboys to Browns ... Browns to Bills.

It would've been fun to see who could help their team more, Cooper or Hopkins, looks like that will be Hopkins.

I'm afraid the game has passed us by Sweats

In a way he has every incentive to play and play really well too though 🤣. He is costing himself millions of dollars in a future contract by not playing

He’s about to get that week off to get even more rest, this guy better play Sunday. This is kind of BS here. No Colman, Kincaid is hurt and a home game that could end up getting us a look at the 1 seed. Come on man. If you can run get your ass out there

I don't understand why he can't take the field in at least a decoy role. Just having him on the field makes a big difference

One of these weeks they’re gonna play real coy with his injury status all week and he’s gonna play lol. Not sure if this is the week though

I don't have great feelings about this guy.  It's rare you get comments from McD that can be viewed as critical of a player.

I think it's clear that Cooper is a different kind of guy, it's probably why he's bounced around.  I don't see him has having that Bills "DNA."  I know some have speculated that we extend him beyond this year but I don't see that as a fit.  Hopefully this is just a blip and he gets us where we need to go this year.
