Bills clinching Division

BAL has PIT twice, chargers, eagles, texans, host browns to finish season eho they lostvto.

 

PIT has a difficult schedule. They have to play thrir divisional rivals ( all 6 games) and at eagles, host chiefs.  Thry coukd easily end up 10-7 or 9-8

 

Cincinnati has steelers twice, chargers. Broncos . They are passed ravens, chiefs, eagles

 

 Chargers have bengals, ravens, falcons, chiefs, bucs, broncos before finishing up with cheats and raiders.those next 6 games are a difficult stretch

 

 broncos have falcons, colts, chargers, bengals, chiefs in their schedule

 

colts have jets, lions, broncos. They might have one of the easier schedules

 

chiefs, after bills and panthers have their 3 div foes, browns, Steelers, Texans — don’t see thrm sweeping thise games.

 

Texans have chiefs, ravens, titans twice, jags, fins , cowboys

there is the scenario… with week 17 where chiefs-Steelers , ravens-Texans play. Based on the results, Buffalo could wrap up the top seed before they  play the jets on Sunday or a win wraps up #1 seed. Bills have 2L others sre 4+ L . Bills best chiefs, chiefs can lose 3 of ( Chargers, Steelers, Texans, at browns, Raiders) raiders beat them late last season at KC , browns at home would be motivated.

That would be the wise play.  Clinch the division, and then start resting guys.  Health is going to determine if there is a shot in hell of making it deep into the playoffs.  At the very least, I’d like to see the starters have the last week off, honestly wouldn’t mind seeing them sit for the second half of the week before the last game.

So I'm just inherently more of a process over outcome type person (independent of McD coming in with his process talk).

 

To me right decision isn't based on if it works out, it's if it was the right decision in the first place with all the available information without hindsight. 

 

We're probably never going to fully agree, but at the same time I don't think we need to, it's just how we enjoy watching sports differently.

Yeah they’ll be rusty as hell, please see Dungy’s Colts as an example. The year they won was when they had the 4 seed and had to keep playing all year

Just hope that doesn't result in a harder path to the AFC championship game (once there they are all tough).

Not at all what I'm saying... what I'm saying is there is a possibility that they lose all of these next four games and the result is not that they are not a competative team that can't go far in the playoffs or that they should blow it all up.

Lol, that's where we disagree...0-4 doesn't necessarily mean we need major change at all...it depends on how they lost and all that...also, what was Tampa Bay's record after 12 games the year the won their last super bowl?

 

What I'm really saying is that I saw somewhere the bills were -5000 to win the afc east...I feel like there is a better chance than that that the bills lose their next four and the dolphins win their next five and they are tied in the loss column than the odds of -5000...there might be some value to hedge there potentially...I don't gamble on sports though, just pointing out a potential value bet to toss a few bucks on something that is unlikely, but feels more likely than the odds

For the first time since 2020 buffalo can afford to rest guys. I firmly believe that KC resting everyone in the last game and buffalo losing Benford, Gabe and Bernard kept us from winning the Superbowl. 

 

McDermott has to be smart and realize that opportunity. You could realistically get the 3 seed and throttle down and still most likely play two home playoff games possibly. 

 

That's why this game is weird and kinda just a preamble to the real thing

I'm certainly just glad that there's a verrry different feeling in the air than there was at this time last year! Last November we were in the conversation of whether or not we'd even make the playoffs, or maybe snag a Wild Card spot? While this year we're riding high atop the division and most likely will stay that way. I had no doubt this team could get here after the switch to Joe Brady last season. Love this team so much!!!!
